Really awesome~ Seriously

Chapter 11. Seriously man, this manga's really awesome thus far. I won't be criticizing all the plot holes, randomness, clicheness that people mentioned below since the story's still progressing. But so far man, I think its really awesome, I'm not even gonna lie. But i wonder, the title's Deadman wonderland (name of the prison), I wonder if they'll gonna be able to get out of prison. If they do, then it'll be interesting and the author can expand the story. If not, then I'm expecting the end of this manga by volume 4-5.

Anyway, its really cool manga, awesome plot twists, awesome fights, everything. Give it a try.

This manga has a very good and unpredictable plotline. The various characters each evolve throughout the story and some of them are even unknowingly connected to each other one way or another. Very interesting and a good read.

The things I most prominently remember

Shiro. Like with Inori from Guilty crown(though that was much less enjoyable overall), when I think of Deadman Wonderland I remember Shiro.

To get more in depth, this manga also gave me the first (I think also the only ever still now) character who I saw as sexually frustrated/in the need of being satisfied in that manner and with her being as beautiful as she is(far from just phsyically), in my mind being the volunteer at it. Weird to type out? One dude on MAL blocked me becuase of having said that in a conversation with him. My first conversation on MAL, and he did that.
Manga updates seems to be a lot better, less elitist pricks who can't discern subjectivity, and the referenced type of kids who follow in their steps.
The character I'm talking about is Yoh's sister.
I love her character, and now that I think of her after having since gotten to know of Asuka, I realise that the way my liking for her had developed is similar to the reason why I developed love for Asuka Langley(who is my favourite person that doesn't exist).
Just as Asuka's, her mental state was to me utterly fitting, believable, relatable, and I wanted to be there for her.

But okay now..
If a story does to me what Shiro's presence did in this story, I'll be satisfied.
I hope the Woodpecker is happy now.

I really liked this manga, caught up with it in one go, although the anime was quite disappointing, I couldn't stand watching it after 2 episodes.
Regardless of that, this manga is not for the lighthearted, the action, suspense, gore, this manga has tons of it, but it's worth the read

great plot and everything at the start...
but now all this seem's kinda over used...
usually shounen manga would be like this:
*some initial question's...
*solve this question...but this answer lead to more questions...
*new arc...go to step 1
and its like this...

but kinda solved some, almost none questions...
but i think the mangaka never had ideas to continue this manga after arc 1...
so...he hasnt new questions to lead us by...
and with this...this new arc... is mainly an filler...leading to nothing...and making us bored

Its so weird... I love it. Its so violent, and misleading sometimes, that you really start to understand him. When he finally gets to the point of thinking he can survive in there without too much psychological damage, something messed up happens again.
The art is really nice too, I think

I'm not completely done with the manga yet, but from where I am at right now, I am quite satisfied with the manga. But DANG THE CLIFFHANGERS!

This story's protagonist falls dead into the altruistic-main-lead category, and tries to save everyone through NAKAMA POWERRR. (<---the one part that annoyed me greatly) But in the end, he is often saved by the main girl, who has more power than one may think.

Long story short: good story, interesting, i need to get back to reading. 🙂
If I'm not back by next week to update my review, then you'll know that the manga did not live up to my expectations and was not worth my time.

Update: it was not worth my time.

I mean this manga is violent, but I didn't think it was overly violent. A violence towards an artistic aesthetic extent. Obviously, they'll be cliche's and certain things unexplained... this is, fiction, after all (to those bashing the manga already) and the girl poppin' here and there just adds to her air of mystery (which is what the manga artists clearly intended). I found the story to be elaborately developed but in a good sense, for their was little lack of confusion. So far, it's all a matter of taste... and I find this story to be more than just a futuristic retelling of gladiator's killing another; there's an essence of an allegory to symbolize humanity, maybe? or maybe I'm reading too much into it. But give it a try if this is your thing, you'll enjoy it!--- even if it is cliche in the world of sci fi manga.

I could say that the situation will occur not only in 4 walls of the prison but also toward the world as well. More story develops and he will break the prison to the outside world. Like Eureka Seven, first the main character is only a punk kid who know nothing but ends up becoming a hero saving the world.

Disappointed

Just a sick unnecessary torture manga. I've read and loved manga like Death Note, Gantz and Mirai Nikki where they share in the Strategic Minds or Game of Death genre, but this doesn't get me excited like they did. This just feels silly by comparison. It just feels completely and wholeheartedly fake and unrealistic. I don't feel or care about the characters, and I hope they all die.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Truthfully, I got as far as when they punish Crow for losing the battle (ch. 11). I wasn't feeling it before then, definitely wasn't feeling it now.
Why would he be excited to fight if he knew he had the potential to lose a body part? Why was he be hoping to some extent to lose the fight? Why did he have all his body parts before battling the kid even though he's clearly not the strongest person. He never lost a fight before? Really?!
Most manga's ask that you humor them and believe one or two concepts. This one just kept asking that I humor them consistently and throw logic out the window. Nah. I'm good.
