A light read, it's very funny and things are rarely serious. Tamio's personality is realistic, supporting characters are interesting. However, I can't really understand takashi.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
In the end, he only kisses tamio because he wants to keep him close, doesn't want to lose his best friend? I fail to see his love :( their friendship is beautiful but their love is very weak, it's like someone can steal takashi away from tamio anytime :(
interesting ride with a satisfying finish

this is pretty long for anyone that is accustomed with the very short and quick romance in most yaoi and shounen ai, and have even less romance than an action manga. most of the manga deals with their friendship and weird life (mostly takashi's), though the love link is already established early on by tomio. so this manga maybe unsuitable for people just wanting romance, but for everyone else that think romance is good just as a side dish or and ending, this will be a good read. i like it because their love don't just come out of nowhere.
the supporting characters can be a bit too weird (like a very young grandma or a very sexy elementary girl) but just taking them as a humurous addition will make the reading much smoother. the art is very clean with no uneccassary tones and backgrounds, one may even feel too sparse, but to me it make their relationships and adventure stand out much more.
a good read.

I had high hopes for this manga at first. The characters are cute and the story is cute and everything is dandy. Sure, there are some jokes that grate, but not enough to make me sick, generally. But then Tamio's personality starts to change. Instead of growing as a character, he gets more and more static, and his bad qualities get worse and worse. By the fourth volume he's an incredibly selfish, self-serving, obsessed brat. And it's really too bad, because before that point he's fairly likeable.

I don´t recall a real plot, but it was a nice read. The boys were nice and art was... acceptable. But there really nothing happened and I think it would be greater with some drama or action (not talking about such scenes). There was just something missing.
But it was refreshing and I enjoyed it a lot :-)

I read the first 10 chapters and then dropped it for a year because I couldn't get over the unrealistic gaggy randomness when all I wanted a shounen ai story (sort of a less severe version of vkoi's reaction).
But...then the art drew me in again because it's very simple and clean but elegant and beautiful at the same time...
After reading it for a second time just now, I've come to really love it. It doesn't get any more absurd than the first few chapters (and I'm rather fond of all the tomfoolery now), and konami sensei knows how to deliver both humor and romance (which you see more of eventually ).
A tip for how to read: It's shounen ai, but don't get pissed off when other plot elements or characters (like Takashi's unnecessarily weird grandma) distract attention from the main relationship. Read light-heartedly, and let the little two chapter arcs set a nice pace and create a dreamy setting. You will still get *squeeeeeeee!!* moments, and if you're like me, later on you'll be happy with how the romance unfolds (pssst. ch. 20!!)
Finally, I think the scanlations are done very well. Thanks!

The first two volumes appear to be much like a gag, but then it does a 180 and becomes what one would expect from a mostly serious Shounen ai. It has a good, solid emotional plot, and some great humour. As for the two characters, their falling in love is gradual and quite sweet.
The series follows 3 periods in the boys' lives: elementary school-that's the 'gag' part-
and then jr.high and high school, which are the more serious parts (but still, definitely not lacking in humour.)
Overall, a very satisfying read :3

I was expecting a cute, light story about boys growing up. Instead, this series kinda weirded me out. In fact, it weirded me out so much that I didn't make it past the third chapter. There's a scene where Takashi's mother kisses Tamio (an elementary school kid) on the mouth, in the bedroom and gets a little groping in too. Gross. But I kept reading... only to slog through a full chapter about a fourth grade sex pot with the body of a 20 year old complete with up skirt shots and crude sexual jokes.
Since it's about kids, I'd expect a little immaturity, but this series was seriously puerile. And kinda ecchi. The art's mediocre at best. I did not find any of the jokes funny.
I'm giving a six only because I did not finish. The first three chapters were bad enough that even if the rest of the series turned out to be a 10, I don't think I could bring myself to give the whole thing a higher score.

By the first volume alone, it's already one of the best shounen-ai series I've read. The artwork, while not the best, is clear and simple. It's well-paced and has good characterization. It's also one of the funniest things I've read!
It's a shame that the scanlation group dropped this, it really is a wonderful manga.
