I'm a girl and a big fan of shoujo and shounen alike. So far I've only read the first 4 volumes, but I've gotten spoilers off the internet and it does seem to get grim and dark in the later volumes. However, I love it as does my best friend for both its cuteness at the beginning and more heavy theme & plot near the end. It's a great manga you should definitely read.

"A light and charming series with the feel good feeling." .... BS. This is a blood-drenched fairytale for adults, but you have to read the later volumes to realize it. The story is not very complicated but since virtually nothing is revealed early on, there is something of an air of suspense about it. The artwork is often mediocre but does shine from time to time.

Koi Hime Sosi is also a shounen manga from this mangaka.

did u ever see an anime and think later that it could be better, well yes, it could and it is too! the anime of pita ten is a tv serie of 26 ep, the manga have 6 volumens and its really good, i can say the tv serie is a very soft shoujo comedy, for kids to be exact. The manga is more agressive with a good storyline, ppl in ur past, present etc... if u want to watch something suave in saturday's evenning with ur family try this anime, if u want a good manga (and u like shoujo, u dont have to be a shoujo maniac) try this ^^

Having read further the manga, I would say the complete opposite. It gets quite grim sometimes.

This is not shoujo, its seinen(young mens) manga.
It was serialized in Dengeki Daioh, a seinen(young mens) manga magazine.

This is a cute manga intended for male audience.

Read Volume 1. Hard for me to rate since this is not my type.
I guess Shoujo fans can try it.
