If you think about it the plot doesn't even make sense to begin with:
I hate how the story tries to portray the demons as the good guys when they're anything but. The ending is stupid too.

If the Ayakashi or whatever they're called, the demons. If they don't want to eat humans then why still demand human sacrifices. Why is that even necessary? The story never explains it. Also, taking human women, wiping their memories, and then dropping them on another mountain is fucked up no matter how you justify it.

How is the boy going to solve the inter-species conflict? Nothing was resolved by his coming into existence.

Does it have no end? Checked 4 online manga sites and all had it stop in the middle of the event of a random girl falling off a cliff.
Up till then the story was okay with good parts.

I actually said out loud: 'Aww what a cute story' when I finished reading this!
For a one shot it was surprisingly heartwarming and although it would be nice to read a longer story I wasn't left with the usual 'that ended way too fast' or 'is that really it' kind of feelings I often get after reading one shots.
I loved the characters and I loved the story behind the little boy's origins. This was a very well done short and although there are some sad parts I found it mainly uplifting so would recommend to anybody who wants to read something short but sweet.

Loved it! Normally I would give a smaller score due to my disappointment regarding the length of the series, but this was so good that even that wouldn't be enough to pull the score down 10/10

WHAT!?!?! The end!? NO WAY IN HELL!
Well, that's all I can say. IT'S TOO SHORT!!! I want moar~~~
translation: The manga is good, very interesting and a nice lighthearted, yet beautiful story. It is short, very short, too short, god-damn-it-i-want-moar-kinda short. The art is nice, not special, but good enough kind of nice. The i-want-more ones.

I removed the "tragedy" tag because it implied that this story came to a bad end (I read the whole thing in anticipation of bawling my eyes out). Well! Though there are elements of tragedy, this oneshot has a happy, very optimistic ending. The premise is a bit used, but the author was able to convey the story in an entertaining and emotional way that made it feel fresh, which I think is really what matters when it comes to working with cliches. The message of why can't we coexist with other people and cultures is a timeless one and well-represented in this manga. The art itself is quite nice, definitely easy on the eyes, and the characters look great. Overall, I liked this oneshot a lot and would recommend it to fans of Natsume Yuujinchou, as the two share a very similar message. 8/10!
