Amusing but not as much as D-frag

Rating: 8.0 / 10.0
It's pretty much a newer, second version of D-frag in a fantasy setting instead of the generic and boring school+club setting that we see everywhere. It really feels like it's just a charade though since it doesn't really feel like a fantasy setting when following the story. It's pretty much just their everyday life, they're sealed and is inside some huge seal world and have no powers, so the demon lord is just a normal girl and it's very similar to the stuff that happens in d-frag, even down to the way the mc(maou) is getting bullied and how she acts, which is pretty much identical to how kazama was bullied in d-frag, the comedy is the same style, in other words the mc is getting the "underling" treatment. Sometimes now and then we get a few flashbacks where they have some powers though, their powers never really matters there either though.
Most of the characters are also copy-paste versions of some of the ones in d-frag, but that's necessarily not a bad thing since I liked them. The maou(demon lord/king or whatever) is a copy of Kazama, only that she is female and thus has a feminine personality, the straight man. Then there's the arrogant wizard that looks down on everyone and screws around with the mc, he kinda reminds me of a mix between the water and earth girl from d-frag, then there's the worthless/stupid hero who kind of reminds me of the hyperactive glasses childhood friend of Kazama from d-frag, with some differences. The martial arts loli is a carbon copy of Roka, my favorite from D-frag, I mean, she looks identical, acts exactly the same, her reactions are identical along with the art for the reactions, so I'm quite happy that she's there, she fills out the story and makes it far funnier.
It starts out slow and pretty boring, after a few characters we start to see additional characters that are actually interesting and funny. My favorite is the martial artist girl that looks and acts exactly like roka and the second favorite is the maid that took care of the demon lord in the past who is just wacky as hell. The mc is just there to be the straight man and I don't actually like that she's set as the demon lord with such a naive and generally incapable personality, just like Kazama from d-frag everyone is walking all over her and she gets screwed over all the time... I am of the belief that if you give someone a role such as that, the person in question has to fulfill some basic criteria, otherwise it feels unrealistic and that makes it harder to find it funny. She doesn't have a shred of any dignity a demon lord/king should possess, she's EXTREMELY weak at the moment, far weaker than the hero party is with their powers sealed. Even when she had all her power she wasn't a proper demon lord and she was generally unskilled, with bad aim and combat senses among other things. A demon lord mc that gets the role of the one who everyone abuses and bullies in the name of comedy is not really amusing. It's a really bad attempt at humor even when the mc is a normal person, but this is a demon lord that has no redeeming qualities except for brute magic power that she can't even use, so she's just a worthless, weak girl that has no pride and can't say no so it's even worse.
That's the thing I hate the most about this author, he relies FAR too much on the "bully the mc" type gag, which just isn't that amusing with everyone cracking down on and walking all over him/her. It'd be better if it was a side character that isn't that important rather than the mc, most people is probably reading the story with the mcs perspective after all, putting themselves in her/his shoes when immersing themselves in the story.
Well, not much is translated anyway(19 chapters, around 320 pages or slightly more than one and a half volume). It's worth reading and my enjoyment was an 8/10 which is pretty high in my standards, where 5 is average, 6 is above average, 7 is good and 8 is very good. 9 is awesome and 10 is flawless. I got a good few laughs out of it and I was glad to see a cast similar to d-frag again, especially the roka-type martial artist. I recommend reading it, it's worth the time. Even if I hate some parts, I've had to learn to ignore some negative stuff over the years since most things have something I hate in it. In this case it's the overused bully-the-mc gags and unrealistic mc personality that bothered me the most.
