The story does very well at exploring the life of a girl abused by her family and the world immediately close to her.

However after the girl leaves the family, the story starts to deteriorate at a disappointing rate.

The villains (father, mother, sister, high priest) in the story are given plot armor to the extent it just makes no sense, meaning you have glaring plot holes immediately after a brilliant start.

There's a lot of potential for this series (just finished c. 59). I love the dynamic between her adoptive family and Leslie. Leslie is so precious and i look forward to seeing her experience happier times.

Interesting but the lack of skill of the writer makes this hard to read at times. The treatment of the second child is exaggerated, after denigrating, insulting, injuring and trying to kill the child they think she's gone mad because of her resentment and that it's unjustified. Also, the author can't seam to decide whether the whole household bullies her of if only the relatives are privy to this. At some point in the beginning, the MC's father is researching something, re-reading books and magically a book that appears to contradict all the knowledge that has been passed down his family just happens to fall in his hands open at the exact page where crucial information is and it just happens to reveal all that he's looking for. And so on... things happen for necessity of the author, not logic, storytelling or flow.
The idea is good, the story is good and the characters (save the antagonists) are good but the tools and plots the author uses to move the story are really lacking.
Fortunately this gets better after 30ch or so which makes it more enjoyable (for me at least), unfortunately along it the pace got slower and there is little happening. Still, there are several threads of the story that are coming together slowly so I think it's going in a good direction and am enjoying it well enough.

Leslie, a child raised in abuse and neglect, learns just how much value she holds in her family, which is nothing at all. Deciding to change her fate, she searches out the infamous Monster Duchess, and proposes a contract-relationship. She asks to be adopted, and expects to be used in exchange for the power of the Duchess' family. What she doesn't expect is to finally learn the meaning of love and family.

Always hard to read about twisted people like that family...but worth it for the MC and her adoptive family, they are adorable <3

I don't see a direction in this story yet.. (no worthy antagonists, etc) but the female lead is so adorable it kind of kills me.
