Slice of life gold

Himawari-san is a pretty straightforward manga. It's cute slice of life yuri in a bookstore during Chapter 1, and it's cute slice of life yuri in a bookstore during chapter 37, and everywhere in between (okay maybe they leave the bookstore once in a while but my point stands). As far as cute slice of life yuri in a bookstore goes, this is probably the best we're gonna get. The characters are relatable, logically fleshed out, and cute, the setting is believable, well drawn, and cute, and the story arcs are emotionally satisfying, have a purpose, and are cute. The writing doesn't feel beholden to tropes, and can be very funny, touching, or cute. As far as long-term plot/character development is concerned, this is a romance manga that is 8 volumes long and still ongoing. It's going to be a slow burn. That doesn't mean it's going nowhere. Whether or not it's too slow for you depends on your tastes and reading speed. As I've indicated multiple times, this is slice of life, so don't expect lots of angst or any significant antagonists. That said, there are plenty of sadder, more introspective moments in Himawari-san, especially relating to a certain character from the past. I recommend this to any yuri fans (it's one of the gems of the genre) and to slice of life fans as well. Stay cute and happy reading!
Cute and thats it

Like some of the other comments said this manga is very cute and funny too but it's lacking in any actual plot or plot/character development. The art is good too and its fun to read but it just feels like nothing will change and it'll always be the same.
Cute, but that's all

Its very cute. Miss Sunflower as a character and her relationship with Matsuri the high school girl is appealing. However, that's all there is. Its mainly about being cute which makes it a little boring and it feels like its going nowhere. I thought there might have been a little drama with the brother, but that was imho disappointingly resolved too quickly. I did like the artwork, but aside from that and the relationship there wasn't enough to the story to hold me. Its by no means terrible and if you like cute fluffy stuff then this might be your cup of tea.
Really cute

the daily life aspect, the slowly developing relationship between the characters and their intercations are what keep me reading this. All the characters are really cute--particularly Himawari-san and Matsuri, although the others are interesting as well! Maybe Matsuri's sister Fuuko is my favorite side character, along with Himawari-san's older bro.
The art is certainly pretty--not too moe and not too...pointy? Flowery? Huh, I can't really put my finger to a right word, but point is the art style is just right to my preference. I especially like seeing the interiors, dunno why.
If you like shoujo-ai without too much (or maybe even nonexistent) drama and are just looking for a light slice-of-life manga with pretty art, you should try reading this.

I find this to be a very sweet and enjoyable manga. I like the artwork overall and Himawari-san (Miss Sunflower) to be particularly well drawn and appealing. Plotwise, the effect that Matsuri and the other girls have on Himawari-san (and vice versa) keeps me interested and I look forward to seeing how these relationships develop over time.

I am beyond shocked. The plot of this manga is so boring and empty to the point where even with great art, I can't stand even looking at it. One of the worst manga I read by far. 3/10.
