Doesn't Impress

I can see too many cliches in this manga. FL confesses to introverted gamer ML on a dare and just so happens to fall in love with him anyways. FL is smitten with love after ML does one act of kindness. "He's not like the other boys", etc. ML is aware his relationship with FL is a farce yet gets in over his head falling in love with her after the first day as well. Instead of calling her and her friends out on the fake relationship, he just goes along with it as if everything were normal. They start acting incredibly weird, and not like in "I'm new to dating" way, but an embarrassing and incompetent sort of way. Agh, it's too much for me.

I do have some praises though. The manga does switch up some conventions for a few aspects found in manga romance genre. I like the alternating perspectives between ML and FL and that the two sidecharacters on the ML's side congregate in the digital video game world and assume their virtual personas displayed in the artwork.

I was expecting "The Gal Who Was Meant to Confess to Me as a Game" to have more substance and something more substantial to bring to the table. Maybe it does later on, but I'm ending my read prematurely at chapter 4. Because of this, I don't feel comfortable giving a more concrete rating than the 5/10 I'm giving it now since I didn't experience that much of the manga's content and because the manga didn't leave so bad of an impression that I must give a more objective and unfavorable review. Because of what more the manga may have offered me had I continued my read, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and settle for not rating it any lower than an average score of 5/10.

This manga is a bit cheesy, but I sure have enjoyed it so far. Both leads are nice to each other, there is steady relationship progress and a ton of sugar.

Ridiculously cute manga

This is a pretty well written manga about a loner guy that hooks up with a cute girl in class due to a punishment game. He overhears the punishment game itself, and is prepared to be made fun of. However, when she was confessing to the MC, the MC shields her from a falling bucket of water. Resulting in her actually falling for the MC. They're both shy types and a lot of their firsts are shared. Its very enjoyable to watch them grow their relationship together and overcome obstacles in their relationship as it progresses.

Art is pretty good but not the best art I've ever seen.
Jokes are funny and sometimes cute.

Only real flaw is that you'd expect their shyness to hold them back, but they seem to have moments where they have courage and do some pretty embarrassing things while blushing furiously.

And even funny!
I read a random chapter (the one where she's making lunch) and just had to read the whole thing. Then it was so so ridiculously cute I just had to read the LNs.
The manga is a good adaptation, definitely, and my thanks tot he translators. I'll say the LN is just as good but also has more cuteness to it because you get more of their thoughts (it switches between PoVs, like the manga's extra chapters) and more of what they're feeling.
This series is fun, man!
