Description
Yuri Makurano is an unattractive girl who learns her mother is a famous actress named Shoko Hanai following her grandmother's death. Yuri begins to live with her mother's family which consists of three children named Sumire, Aoi, and Fuyo Hanayashiki. Yuri is treated as a maid at the household, eventually bonding with the family and builds up unrequited feelings for Sumire. Later, she comes to learn the only blood relation she has to the family is Aoi, her half brother.

It's just sad how overlooked this manga is... it has one of the most intriguing plots I've ever read...and the main characters are simply adorable,the heroine is indeed not something you would usualy choose for a leading role.

This is what we call shoujo manga!! I was neither impressed by the title nor the summary, but i've been addicted to this wonderful manga since the first chapter.
Most of the main characters are quite unique. But they are very attractive. The plot is not that excellent, however, once you've read you can't stop. So, i highly recommend this to all of you, shoujo fans.
After reading, i just want to bring a fat puppy named Yuri home. T____T

All the characters including the heroine are really well done: comedic, non-annoying with distinctive very likeable personalities. The storyline is well-paced and unfolds naturally. I really like this series (thus far up to 7th volume) and highly recommend this to all you shoujo manga fans out there.
Indeed, this is a wonderful manga. I've never seen a main character like Yuri! She's enchanting, and her family members are unique. If you like a plot, this is the manga for you. And the art is nice too!
Yosh! I love this manga. Just bought the books in Japanese, looking for a translator so Aerie Scans (aeriescans at gmail.com) can pick it up. And I've seen around 17 episodes of The Rose drama. It's so funny. Follows the manga really closely, but too bad the subtitles aren't out past the released story yet...;.; *awaits arrival of books though she won't be able to understand them because her Japanese isn't good enough yet* wheeee~
this story is so heart warming!! Besides, only a few manga feature a cute and chubby girl as the main character.
btw, a taiwanese series, The Rose, starring Ella and Jerry Huang was adapted from this manga 2 yrs ago i think.
