From: Easy Going Scans
Shana Ou Yoshitsune is an alternative story to the popular historical figure Minamoto no Yoshitsune along with his servants, including the renown Benkei who lived in the Heian Era. In this version, Yoshitsune was actually a weak, sickly boy who met an exact body replica in Hyouta, a traveling orphan who earn his living on the street. Being physically stronger, Hyouta was led to become a replacement for Yoshitsune, eventually claiming the name as his own.

Best manga I've read lately. I had started this one before and dropped it since it was great and it wasn't still completely scanlated, so huge thanks to Easygoing scans! translation is not perfect but it's nonetheless a very fine job.
So, this one has everything,
Great story, seams to be a historical character, to be honest I don't know enough of Japan's history to give any opinion here but nonetheless it's very well done and the storytelling is good.
Very good chars, MC is too perfect for my taste but oh well, for the most part characters are believable and interesting, not to mention the "bad guy" is a reasonable and arguably decent human being unlike the cliched "evil incarnate" crap that populates manga.
Last, the art-style is great and the facial expressions are excellent, the flow of the actions is also good.
In short it enters my top ten, great manga.

It hooked me from the first few chapters till the end of scans(ch29). I would like to read it more. It always made me smile every chapter. This aint the first manga that had ushimawakaru and benkei on it but it was better than the other. This manga is a hidden GEM, I tell you. READ IT NOW!

The story is really nice, and the art is realistic, clear and quite pretty. I do love the way the author combines historic factors with his imagination. It's just awesome!
It makes you laugh as if you've never laughed before, and at the same time can make you cry. And if you have some knowledge of Japanese history, you'll know why this manga is incredible! The manga is currently being published in my country up to Vol.12, and I just can't help but excitedly waiting for the next volume each time finishing one.

This is a very good shonen manga, and for samurai genre, i put this as one of my favorites. It's hillarious, but when everything get serious, the author show us how yoshitsune grows to be a great general. When i finish this first sequel, I think: Woaah, It seems like I look how yoshitsune grows, with my own eyes!
Really, you must read it FULLY until the next sequel, GENPEI WAR!

Yep, this is one of good manga.
The main char is a brilliant boy, smart, clever, courage... any characteristic to be a leader. He also attract admiration of people around him and get respect.
He switched role with the real Ushiwaka, to protect the real one. Then he replaced him to banish in Kurama temple.... then lately he take the full role of Ushiwaka. And the tales of minamoto yoshitsune begun...
Read it and u'll like it.
I think, this one is better than another series Hirofumi Sawada made (King of Bandit).

This is really good! It starts of at a nice pace and the story is being set out really nicely which leaves a sort of bittersweet (I guess that the word?) taste in your mouth afterwards.
The characters are all children but they are all pretty fun and mature and very clever and loyal to each other. They're all charming and it's easy to laugh at what they do sometimes because they do things with a childlike innocence in a way...
I can't wait to read more of their adventures! The granny lady is hilarious.
