The art is very good. But the story is very lacking, and the so called mythology built up in this manga about people flying around in rollerblades and fighting each other is just too bullshit to believe in.

But, it's still an exciting manga to read. But only if you're able to disregard the bullshit enveloping the entire story. Some of the characters are just too much, such as the kid with three personalities and über-skill who keeps swearing all the time (well, one of his personalities do).

It's very predictable as well. Main character is "destined" to be the "god of the sky" or some such, simply because he was "born with some sort of inate über-rollerblading skills". These mangas just has to have one of them as a main-character, sigh.

Anyway, before I rant too much and spoil too much of the story for you; it's a decent shounen manga on the same line as Naruto or Bleach, just with better art and somewhat better storytelling.

Nice art. Gets repetitive sometimes, but still great.

as you can read in your browser address box, this is manga updates not anime. the anime doesnt even begin to accomplish what the manga does. the idea behind the manga is clearly unique, and although it does follow a simple plot, there are plenty twists and turns within the story to keep you interested. all this combined with the art, the likeable characters, and the phony physics makes this an enjoyable read. smile

This further proves in the Anime industry, anything can be made into a series, and achieve success. This series probably has one of the most annoyingly simple plots and no "twists and suspense" can save it's freefall into the categories of utter disappointment.
Great art though.

Compared to some of the lower ratings out there, I believe that Air Gear deserves at least something above a 5 -__-; The art is great, yes, but the storyline evolves at an astounding rate if you actually read past the first few volumes. Actually, once you get past the first volume, the storyline already develops quite a bit. Give it at least a chance and you'll definitely find something worth reading.

My first Oh!Great Manga and I don't think its bad. In fact I think it's damned good. Panty shots aside the characters really begin to be fleshed out once you get past the initial cheekiness of the first half of the first volume. The abilities are cool, the characters are cool and the theme is great. Giving it a once over will deceive you but getting to the story of kings, roads and towers it invites you to learn more.

as many have mentioned, artwork is topnotch and all that stuff

as for the story, i dunno, whats wrong really. it did started out quite shallow, but it got some improvement as you read on. you also just have to like all the bogus scientific explanation oh!great comes up with. compared to tenten, the only thing missing are nipples shot and historical japanese philosophy (though, there are a bit of there).

consider this tenten lite, except maybe the story has more impact.
