The mangaka managed to portray the characters and their ordeals in a realistic way that made you remember their ages as you read. In other words, their youth shone all throughout the stories, except maybe the last.

The first two stories didn't interest me much. I found them to be pretty generic teenage love stories, albeit maybe a little more realistic and less melodramatic.

The later stories are what I really enjoyed. The chapters about the "friendly trio" made me feel like I was reliving elementary schools, with the certain worries that come with friendship. The three girls were all different, but still treasured each other in such an innocent and pure way.
The final chapter focused more on effort and rivalry, all the usual accompaniments of a sports genre. They resolved the issue with the rival pretty neatly while also sending out a lovely albeit standard message, "practice makes perfect".
