I almost ditched this about 15 chapters in, because I got so bored, but I'm glad I didn't, because that was just about how long it took for me to start caring about the characters. The amount of seriously weird fanservice also goes down somewhat, which I can't help but be thankful for. I guess at least the author is even handed with his nude gender selection - the guys and girls get about the same amount of naked time, no matter how little you want to see it. bigrazz

Like in the subject the series is good, the story (as bland as it is) holds its own, the echi or "fanservice" parts despite being always the Ahhhhh~ after the food they get is well placed and isnt overused OR everywhere around the manga ( its well placed, you can predict it AND it's keeped at the right amout) and as cooking goes, sure its a bit over the top but its not going over the board with it, so it is plesant for the eye.

I know I probably shouldn't comment about the foods or the methods used to cook them in this manga, since its pretty freakin obvious the point is to show off fan service here... but being a chef myself, I have to call shenanigans on all the food in this manga so far. Absolute BS cooking techniques and unrealistic foods.

It's quite a cheesy manga, with LOTS of random fanservice, and being a "shounen" never will be a decent excuse for it having this plot, with stupid reasoning.
Befitting Shounen Jump, they made it a battle manga somehow...

Food porn is a little borderline...if you take out the orgasms from eating good food, there really isn't any even ecchi things much less porn. Nikumi kind of borderline but a big chest doesn't necessarily constitute ecchi...

Ignore all the complains about this manga. The plot is not "fast" it's a "shounen" manga if you expect a much slower detailed plot go read something else. There's fanservice but it's not annoying unlike other manga's but that's not what makes this manga so good! It's the food, the art and the character reaction that will make you salivate.

alright i just going to rush into center problem
the plot just too rushed, the exact same problem that all newest shonen jump manga has
and the fan-service is just way too much, much to give disturbance for readers

That's what this is. And not even joking.

I don't think I would have imagined myself reading a cooking series with art by a H artist. It certainly gives it a special feel. But still, it's pretty enjoyable all in all and you get used to the fanservice.

There seems to be some slight plot holes already, but I suppose it's still too early to judge. The characters are interesting and the food makes you hungry.

Very interesting cooking manga with a few problems

I love cooking manga, and this does the genre justice with different kinds of food that's introduced. Great art, pacing, and it's very energetic. However, the problems I have are:

1. Too much fanservice. It's funny once or twice but when everyone starts orgasming every time they eat his food it gets corny.

2. Room for improvement? He's already at such a high level. Where is the growth? He's catching up to his father, but the story doesn't properly gauge his current level for the readers.

When I mean growth, I'm talking about real conflict dealing with cooking, with him overcoming his insecurities or failures in cooking.. not talking about conflict that deals with the politics of cooking.

I never image the great story from TSUKUDA Yuuto-Sensei and the great art from SAEKI Shun-Sensei (who work on Harem Time) is make this manga become so amazing, the power of combination is so frightening!
