Don't really know... I try to use as little of everything as possible, and that includes paper. Go printing double-sided!

It's supposed to be so you or a proofreader has room to make notes and corrections in the margins, but I have yet to meet anyone who actually bothers to mark up their papers like that. Except for that one jerk who kept writing stupid crap all over my paper during an in-class peer review. Punk. mad

Hmm. I'm trying to think of what I've done to be earth friendly, and I think I can conclude I've done squat. Now I feel all bad. no

I helped the planet today by eating and keeping myself alive. If your wondering how this helped the planet, well its cause I'm not decomposing in landfill and rotting away causing harmful effects to nearby environments =]

Oh also i haven't turned a single light on in my home for about 2months, therefore saving electricity.

Well, last weekend was the Jackson Apple Festival*. So I and most other Jackson residents have been cleaning up the mess left behind (lots of garbage). And I have alot of work cause the parade rout goes in front of our house.

Because teachers are getting old and blind and having lines crammed together for 200+ papers they have to read in a row hurts their eyes muchly. laugh

I suppose that's also helping the planet?

They want to edit in between your lines, don't they? My teachers write in mine...

I recycle all the time. I would never throw paper if I can still write on the back side. I usually bring a thermos with me to class for coffee/water, so I wouldn't have to waste water bottle or container, plus it saves me money. I would usually wash disposable stuff and if it's just for me, I would reuse them again before throwing them to the recycling bin. I unplug my stuff whenever I go out... etc. I could go on and on... biggrin

I'm really into practicing the green living... I would take the bus to school too, but it takes twice as long as just driving there.

biggrin I'm with you on that one! Some things even kill *three* birds with one stone, like walking to work - doesn't use gas, which helps the environment & my bank account, AND I get some exercise!

Hmmm let's see...haven't turned the furnace on yet even though it's 52 F outside & not much warmer inside (I usually keep it around 55-60 during the winter); don't turn on lights unless we need them and turn them off as we leave the room; do my laundry with cold water; recycle whatever we can (this also helps with $$ since I pay for trash pickup by the can, but recycling pickup is free); buy ingredients & cook rather than buying pre-made, over-packaged stuff; buy most of our stuff second hand; reuse containers etc.; take stuff to thrift stores rather than throwing it away; my yard is all low/no water plants (thanks mom! biggrin )....probably other stuff too...

I reuse water bottles (I still can't figure out why people by reusable water bottles when disposables function just as well), until they meet some terrible demise. They're way more versatile than cups (I still manage to spill water if the cap is not on)... on the other hand you can only drink water but that's all I drink anyway. I reuse paper too, I have way too much paper and I'm afraid all that one sided paper will cover my room completely at some point.
