Get really pissed, whine, bitch, and holler to myself and the get over it the spam Wikipedia for manga and make lists on paper while complaining nonstop to myself (nothing else I know to do since I use a Playstation 3 for internet).

Well, in my opinion, it would be a loss to the publishers as MU would be a big help if they wanted to look for a series that they want to license. laugh

Topic reply:
I'd probably be pissed and won't be able to read manga for quite some time...since I don't know that much without the guide of MU. xD

I don't really see why MU would be taken down, but if it were...

I'd shoot someone.

I follow hundreds of manga. W/o MU, there's no way I can keep track of everything. I certainly won't stop reading though. That's almost physically impossible. IRC and my own records are a big pain, but I'd resort to it eventually.

Maybe it's time to move on to gaming to fill the black hole manga leaves.

Wither into the ground and die.

Continuing with the seriousness, I'll be dropping a lot of series due to the fact that I'm following far to much to be able to keep up with them all. I managed to survive before I found this place so it's possible, but it would be a serious blow to all things manga as this place has opened my eyes to so many different types and has all the information you need.
That and I'd have to recreate my lists. Oh noes. Remembering 200+ manga is no joke laugh
But it wouldn't stop me from reading manga. I like manga too much to just stop completely. I don't think I could do it.

Probably go back to another site I was using before MU, would miss the nice features and the forums, but well I can't lie I care the most about the releases listing.

I'd be royally pissed, not because i hate the publishers for doing it, but because closing this site down would be the business equivalent of stabbing yourself in the leg repeatedly with a blunt knife. This site is the best advertising you can get - the free, widely seen kind. Without it they would lose a great deal of their foreign client base, how else would people find out about manga series?

No worries people, they're not idiots. The amount of revenue this site nets them means they won't be closing it down, though its only a matter of time before they try to go after the scanlators cry, the site will undoubtedly remain online, save armageddon, which is always a possibilty.

I'd probably be quite annoyed, Since I love the list feature on here, and the ease of seeing what has been updated, but I would get over it and just go on doing what I always do. smile

Cry myself to sleep for a while.
But the manga community would continue on.
The head is the scanlating community. The body is the fanbase. And the legs are the sites and such. Though MU is over half of the legs... As long as you don't cut the head off, it will continue to move.
The spider or whatever this was supposed to mean.

Yup, that was my first reaction. Cry.

I'd say MU was more the Memory or Nerve Center. It's certainly my memory.
Before MU, I used to read manga, but forget to keep up with half the series. Now with all the listing functions here, it's made my life much easier. And I've found a lot more manga that interest me.

Seriously, MU is the Wiki for the manga community.

With the war on websites like OM and MF in full swing MU is the only place we have to look to to find where we can download our favorite series. More importantly it is the place where we can find info about new series. I hate to say this but if MU goes the way of OM I am going to have to throw in the towel on reading manga.

The whole manga hosting system is crashing around us, mangaka and the publication are on a witchhunt to stop it all. This industry will crack down on everything related to their lose of money, but if anything is safe it is MU. Hosting sites are gone though, AnimeCrack is rampid and the DEA is crackin down. OneManga is the most recent and others will follow suit, but with this site we can still get it from the scanlators.

I think my reading manga days would be cut severely. OM was first and MU was second.
Previous to OM impending shutdown, other closings didn't worry me much or didn't affect me really at all. Even though my use of OM had cut back a little because I've been so busy with other things, it was always my first, and for some, may have not been the best, but it's simplicity and easy access is what started my love for manga in the first place. It breaks my heart to see it go...

It grew even more when I discovered MU. At first, I just lurked and let my knowledge grow on new genres and series and essentially, what manga really was. biggrin

I then wanted to become a part of the community (which I did...somewhat XD) and that's how I came to know some of the Japanese culture. Stereotypically and some real aspects too. And I grew to like it, not that I plan on going to Japan anytime soon, but I love the language and plan on taking it next year in college.

Without MU... I believe my reading will dwindle to being only the big 3 and a few others I have to know about, but other than that, I think my reading days will be over. none My Japanese interests will probably stick around for a very long while though. eyes

I'd stare at the computer screen for a while. Then I'd go through these stages, possibly not in this order: shock, denial, panic, excessive freaking out and devastated cries, anger, then eventually depressed acceptance.

Yes, I need mangaupdates so I can function when reading manga. I just do. xD
