There was no answer for "Who said I didn't [look for a guy otaku]?"

Anyway, I didn't get into manga until after I was married. However, if by otaku you mean "obsessive fan", I guess you could say I did, seeing as I met my husband online, on a game based on Star Wars. (It wasn't one of the MMORPGs that most people think of though.) We weren't THAT obsessive, though.

A true otaku would be too obsessive to be good in a relationship, I would guess.

you have to spice up your life and meet all kinds of differnt people!!!

Well, I think it's because why get any male when there's anime and manga males?

But I'm not sure since I'm not a female otaku bigrazz

It's not just the otaku issue right?

I mean, it's nice for your bf to like anime and all,
but if you don't like them that way,
then it just doesn't work.

It's not like you can just turn your feelings on and off like a robot or something.

& anime can't be the only thing that people have in common. It just doesn't work. There has to be something else in the equation too, or things just fall apart.

so it's not necessarily that a girl might reject you for being an otaku. it's more like, "do i like youconfused"

:3 don't worry and have some singles pride in yourself.
life is good.

I don't think people should covet such a gf anyway. My guess is the people that really covet it are the ones that are having trouble getting a gf anyway. Thinking it might be easier with another otaku.
Then again it seems it happens with sports too. a sportsfan wants a sports fan gf.

I know its good to have shared interest but I'd rather not have a big anime fan for a gf. I wouldn't want a slasher, fanfic writer, ect. I'm trying not to say anything negative... so to cut it short, I'd rather have a more normal gf

Lucky star did cover this. The general conclusion being that an otaku guy doesn't come off as very dependable. Course, the english usage doesn't quite cover the same people.

This reminds me of that episode of Black Cat were he gets reprimanded for aiming for the head, which is a small target, instead of the larger body.

NEVER?! Never say never!

I wouldn't mind have a guy otaku as a boyfriend -- as long as their not some 35 year old pedo who lives in his parent's basement.

A guy with a life outside of manga/anime, why not?

One who lives in his parent's basement-For several reasons, dark basements suit me quite well, although his lack of motivation would be a turn-off.

The sort who would be too obsessed to have time for me? Never.

I never met an otaku guy, so I wouldn't know.
I think I'd love it though, at least you can share your interests and opinions about a specific anime.
If they're too busy with manga/anime not though.it's pretty much the same as saying that manga/anime is more important and that you have no meaning at all ^^.

I was geek, but not "otaku" when I got married. I did marry another geek, if it matters, so I probably wouldn't have minded an otaku, had I already been one. But yeah, he would still have to be socially well-adjusted and low maintenance.

I'm the only person around here [house/neighboorhood] who is crazy about manga/anime and basically anything of that sorts.
I'm a total otaku and i havent' met anyone as crazy as me.
[except for my gay friend, who likes yaoi] but it's not a strong like as my like..>.>XD

so that's why i haven't got that type of bf~
but i would love to meet people for reals, maybe i should go to an anime convention..anyways, it would be so awesome to meet that kind of guy in public=D
