Well, this chapter left its focus from the main characters and went to Akatsuki Kain (is that spelled right?).
Not much happens in this chapter except it talks of the past before the start of the manga.
I thought that there were more words than usual but that's all I can say.

I think it's an interesting chapter!!! =D

It fills in some 'missing' holes in the flashback from Yuuki and Aidou's P.O.V.

Hino gave a hint of Kaname having 'nostalgic' memories of his past and how badly he wanted Yuuki. I find it enjoyable but not a 'great' cliff hanging or "Z0mg! I wan to see wats NEXT" -chappie. XD

And for those who rant that Vampire Knight has a confusing plot and have so00 many Plotholes (like why is Kaname an 'ancestor', or is Kaname REALLY Yuuki's brother etc etc etccccccccccc), PLZ do make your generalisations AFTER the story has been revealed. Hino cant just spill all the msytery in JUZ a couple of chapters.

It takes time to tell the story and LOL, there are other "draggish" mangas out there. VK only has monthly releases....

and YAY!!!11 A Special chappie on the Kuran family will be out on March!! I hope it's about the relationship between the three Kuran siblings and Kaein Cross!!

Wow I never really thought about the manga in that way. If I ever wrote complaints on the forum about the plot, I feel really bad and I'm sorry to everyone, especially Hino Matsuri!

It's just that recently, I've been reading loads of comments of how "boring" vk already is.. when I personally think that it's getting better every chapter..

Most of my RL friends have stopped reading vk cuz they find it 'confusing' and cuz Yuuki didnt end up with the 'pairings' that they liked... srsly...do those 'reasons' really compensates the Major turning point of Vk that Hino made eversince chapter 35? .___.

I'm just glad that she finally showed Cain being in love with Ruka. I've suspected it for quite a long time, and I really want to see the 2 of them together. I want her to get over Kaname enough to give Cain a chance to make her happy.

I like Zero, and I like Kaname, so at the moment, I really don't care who Yuuki ends up with. I think Kaname is more likely at this point, since as best I can tell, what's happened to Zero is a temporary stop-gap of falling to Level E, since he didn't get Shizuka's blood without it being mixed with Kaname's. (That's jury's still out, I think. It's possible that taking back his twin's power may have helped resolve that, but who really knows other than Matsuri-sensei.)

I think that I like the Akatsuki even more now. I always knew that Akatsuki is different from the other Night Class members but to see him at a young age already immune to Kaname's aura is really uplifting for me. Kaname needs more friends like Akatsuki, who won't spoil and hero-worship him, but sees him as who he is.

I'm glad we are finally able to see how Akatsuki thinks, seeing as he's not just an ordinary side character.

Do those reasons justify your friends' deciding to drop the manga? Well, yes, quite frankly.

I mean, just because someone starts a manga, he or she is absolutely under no obligation to finish it if he/she no longer finds it enjoyable. A lot of people get sucked into a series exclusively because of a particular aspect of it, be it a character or a pairing or a plotline, or whatever. If that thing that first interested them in the series is no longer there, doesn't it make sense they should stop following it, particularly if they never fell in love with any other aspect of the series? Despite how many other good aspects of the series there may be, it's simply that person's preference not to be interested in them.

And for a lot of people, reading VK in the monthly format is simply not working out for them--as evidenced by all the complaints that the series is "confusing" or "boring." The subtlety in VK may be nice, but it's also to be expected that it would drive away a lot of readers: Most people don't have good recall for things that they've read, particularly if a few months have passed. With all the tiny clues that this series is fond of giving, it's only natural that many people would feel bored/confused by the manga if they can't remember enough about the previous tiny clues in order to find the current ones meaningful. In this case, of course people would be bored/confused by the chapters. Take Kaname's confusion in the sandbox in the current chapter. I think we've seen him react that way before, but I can't be sure, and I can't remember where or when. Without that kind of context, it's a bit hard to get very excited about seeing him experience deja-vu: "We already know that he's aware of his past life. So what if he didn't seem that aware of it when he was a kid? How is that meant to be significant? What am I missing?" And by the time that Hino Matsuri gets around to building on this new piece of information on Kaname (it'll be at least two months before she does because of the break) I'll totally have forgotten about the whole sandbox incident.

the only thing i thought was interesting was that kaname & yuuki split from cross academy.

im guessing this bonus chapter or w/e was the actual monthly chapter then?

After reading some other forum topics, I always come across a comment of yours that talks about you really wanting Cain X Ruka. It's great how much of a supporter you are for them ^_^

Rooting for Zero or Kaname is pointless since Hino-sensei will do what she wants there, but there's no reason to believe that CainXRuka can't happen, so it makes me happy to think about it. =)
