I did, but it really doesn't matter, been a vamp fan almost my whole life. However, I don't care who's stronger, since there will never be an actual fight to bet on.

i vote for the werewolves, mostly since vampires are so commonly overrated.
transforming into immensely strong monster ftw.

i voted werewolfs the reason very easy
when a werewolf and a vampire would fight thr vampire sends his mind controlled humans/animals werewolf fights them until half the night is gone. then the vampire and werewolf fight hand to hand till the other half of the night is gone. the sun rises vampire is extremely weakend to thepoint hes weaker than a human and the werewolf changes back into a man with slightly greater ability then a human so he kills the weak vampire dude bigrazzbigrazz

The very thought of immortality intrigues me so much that I've always liked Vampires more. So that I could just continue to watch how the world evolved and the knowledge I could gain.
Though I do think of them more like the Nosferatu, grotesque type over the more handsome ones films portray them as these days. And the asian vampires are just as intriguing with the mouth full of fangs that devour everything.

As for weakened in sunlight I can actually believe that. Considering I get little to no light in my room. And if you don't go outside into sunlight for a couple days you can feel a little weak when you do.

As for werewolves, I remember reading a recipe once for how one could become a werewolf. Which one ingrediant was wolfsbane which has also been said to be part of a cure, and a couple more poisoneous plants.

My vote is for werewolves because vampires only suck on the blood of their victim and are weaker in the sunlight vs a werewolf who is not only willing to go directly and rip you to shreds but can also sniff you out if you try to run for it. And then there is the slight problem of them being almost invulnerable to anything but silver biggrin The only disadvantage I can think of is that you only turn into a werewolf during the full moon once a month (though there are plenty of stories out there that say otherwise)

It might have been said already (I've only read the 1st and 2nd page) but I find the fact that you ban or ignore literature stupid!

Folklore, legends, myths, fairy-tales and every other thing that is passed from one person to another, doesn't matter if its passed mouth to ear or by the use of a book, is a story and is part of literature.

And from what I know the myth about vampires has existed much longer then the ones about werewolves. Its just that the term "vampire" started being used long after the myth itself came to be.

Now, who is better in my opinion?
I kinda like both... seeing as they are both mythical creatures none of them can be better then the other since they are both connected to each other, and as the myth about one of them changes so does the myth about the other.

If a book comes out or a movie is filmed in which lets say werewolves hunt vampires to get stronger!? And this is accepted by people then you have yourself a new version to the myth and as long as people believe it the myth wont change.

It doesn't mean much to me who is stronger, all I know is that if someone offered me the choice of becoming either one of them I would refuse! Both of them have to many downsides that are just not worth the great abilities I would gain...

Edit: Just a little fact- Werewolves in the first tales and myths didn't turn into the werewolf we see and hear about in movies and stories, but they would transform into a regular wolf that had human eyes and could talk. There were other traits but they differ from legened to legened...

yep prefer the straight shift to wold instead of the hybrid, stand on two legs werewolves.

I know for vampires they have something like the Strigoi. which depending on what legends you have heard feed on something that wasn't human. some stories say they feed on other vampires, some dragons, even read a couple when in was werewolves. and there are probably other legends were it was other creatures.

so you can't say all vampires are weaker, because in the case of the Strigoi they go up against some heavy hitters for there blood feedings

the only problem i found in your vampire mythology is that you said vampires are pale. dude, that was all bram stoker.

the original vampires in mythology were bloated, and black with lots of built up blood, like a rotting corpse. not pale.

Aren't those Mesopotamian Ghouls? named and labeled as such... because lets face it, if you label anything "undead" as a vampire this would never end.

Ghouls

-Feed of the flesh of the dead, and where often found in battle fields after a great battle or in Graveyards.

-An easy meal above anything else, so if a Ghoul couldn't find dead bodies to feed, then his next target would be Children.

-Ghouls are strong and fast and can only be killed with FIRE (PERIOD)

-Ghouls are mindless monsters that "live" solely to feed and Obey their master (IE a DEMON)

-It was later added that Ghouls could die if attacked with a Cross, this is a change that was added by Christians in order to make Mesopotamian people embrace the Cross... as such this IS BOGUS and LIES, the Cross doesn't kill or protect you front any monster.

PS: Undead's go as back as 5000 B.C, but none of them are Vampires, most of the Undead are either Vengeful Spirits or Zombies that ate Flesh (the Blood Drinking undead are much younger)

Werewolves (as a whole) are front 1400 B.C, but they already where werewolves as we see them today (just that more powerful)

To answer something that I saw while reading, but can't find it to quote it (for some reason forgot who said it...)

At the start of the Werewolf Legends, Humans transformed into wolves and kept their humans eyes (you are right) but also as time passed they could transform into the hybrid form too... if they lived long enough.

werewolves does seem to have a obviously advantage over a vampire even when I watch a movie when a vampire takes out a werewolf I always wonder wtf how did that happen but chaos is obviously bias you can tell just by lloking at his avatar and sig. Man I miss the simple versus polls between a ninja and a pirate at least that has a chance of happening...

O.O

well is kind of unfair for the pirates, because today pirates can't hope to defeat a ninja...
