In non-harem nekketsu shounen, when it comes to romantic subplot, its usually one of the two common options:

-If it has one or few (2 or 3 usually) more potential love interests for the protagonist, the main girl will win most of the time. Bonus point if she has an active personality.
On the other hand, it is also more common for the MC to ends up with a fighting heroine than a support type (and healer), even if vice versa, regardless if she fits the poster heroine image or not.

-No one will win the MCbowl and thus no pairings at the end of the run. Romantic tease is left unsolved. This is also a particularly common ending.

Anyways, the only reason I asked is because when I go to some forums (/a/ specifically) I'm probably not the only one who gets sick of people saying all non-harem shounen (that fits the above first option) have the MC ending up with a side girl even if they read outside of the big 3, particularly if she's a girly crush when such thing wasn't always prominent. How often does non-harem shounen with a main girl as the (or one of many) potential love interest(s) will have her win the MCbowl?
