This week's poll was suggested by Nekomikoto. If they started releasing a color version of a series that you previously read and liked, would you read it? Personally, I don't have time for that...

Question: What would you consider to be "too many chapters" for a series you'd otherwise be interested in reading?

500 Chapters - votes: 567 (13.2%)
300 Chapters - votes: 713 (16.6%)

Maybe when the full color version is completely released. The quality of the coloring is the key deciding factor for me and not the length but my interest in an unfinished new release is limited. That´s why I am waiting on the current From Hell colorization to finish to bring up a non-manga example and Japan is hardly the only country to do this. All sorts of comics that were colored before the standards rose in let´s say the mid to late 90s get facelifts. Sandman is a pretty famous example.
Marvel´s colorization of Akira is still the golden standard when it comes to full-color manga. Steve Oliff changed the industry with his endeavor.

No, that would be too much work. In my opinion, part of the enjoyment was choosing the colors for myself.

No, colour doesn’t improve it IMO.

No. When something is originally made in black-and-white, colouring it will pretty much always result in nothing other than it looking terrible.

No. I have no interest in coloured manga in the first place.

Officially? Full color? I think that's very unlikely, at least i've never seen that happen.
Also i don't think it would add much unless the series was initially supposed to be in full color anyway. Adding flat colors to a perfectly fine B/W image doesn't do anything for me.

YOU'RE LYING D:
But like actually, if it's good, and I notice, I have to read it 🙂 I don't really like hobby activities besides video games and manga, and reading manga is easier than playing video games 😛

I voted no, I'm more likely to reread the black and white than the color one

Super tiny maybe, I'm not going to reread it if it's a few volumes. That alone can take a while to get recolored and if there are some changes it would take even longer to get edited and that is only if you are allowed to use existing translations. If it was a good 1 volume perhaps but for most not worth it.

depends on original art quality, genre and style
Some manga is originally released with incomplete art due to scheduling issues (i.e. Hunter x Hunter), or is released in black and white due to being published in black and white magazines despite actually having been drawn in full color.
Later re-release in color can thus bring forth something that has been missing.
Some genres (i.e. hentai) also can win quite a lot from being released with prettier full color art, while for others (i.e. some shoujo) it is not that important.
