Hey Mods,

For some reason, random manga just get removed from my lists. At first, I thought it mgiht be a hack, so I changed my password. This didn't help.

Basically, my issue is this; I'll look for a manga on my reading list to update it with a newly-read chapter and lo! The entire manga is gone from my lists. I have to then re-add it again and try to remember what chapter I was on.

What is going on? If this continues, I will probably just migrate to myanimelist. Which I don't want to do, as I like this website.

Help please!

You're the only one to ever have this issue, so chances are it's on your end.

What series was it? Are you sure you're looking at the correct list? Are you sure you weren't the one who removed it from the list?

Hey there,

Its just random ones. I'll search for it on my list and realise its now missing.
I search via ctrl-f. Is that bad?

Dear OP,

I've had the very same problem. While updating my reading list, I've noticed that some series were removed from it. It's apparently random. Provided that I'm absolutely 100% sure that I did not removed those series from my reading list, I suspect an issue on the server side. My list is quite long ; maybe a size problem in the code ?

Thanks for all the great job, nonetheless.

Another one bites the dust. This defeats the purpose of the reading list if titles are kicked out... Should I create another account to split the problem ? As a side note, I also noticed that sometimes, titles are not displayed in the reading list, but when doing a search and accessing the title page, they are properly marked as reading (with correct vol/chap number).

It isn't that the titles are actually still in your list but translated differently?
A lot of the manga has multiple names, example: "Sayounara Ryuusei, Konnichiwa Jinsei" is shown in the list when you may have added it under the name "Good Bye, Dragon Life".
If it shows it is still in your reading list when going to the page for the manga I would think this is the most likely thing that is happening.

Thank you for your kind suggestion, but believe me, that's not the case. The search function is made for this, and it works pretty well. From a database point of view, the lists are obviously constructed from title id, impervious to name changes. My main reading list decreased in size from 600+ to 500- titles during christmas vacation, meaning that I've lost the reading status of more than 100 titles, and that's not a laughing matter. Checking my archives to recover lost titles is a little bit tedious... Based on the assumption that list size is an issue, I'm trying to dispatch titles to several list with various "reading statuses".

Seeing as I have 1331 manga in my reading list, 1235 in my wishlist and 3255 in my complete list, I would say that the size of your list is not the issue...

It'd probably be helpful if you would actually identify some of the series that have been removed from your list. You do see that lambchopsil asked for that info in response to the first post in the thread, right? Neither you nor the OP ever gave it to him.
