Lately I've been wondering if it would be possible to allow filtering of the show new posts option by forum. So, say, if I didn't want Adult 18+ topics to appear when I hit the new button, I'd just go to my User CP and filter that forum out, or if I never wanted to see the yaoi/yuri section, or if I found User Announcements and Recruitment topics to be clogging up the forum one day, I could remove those.

I'm sure the idea has been suggested before, but I don't think anybody has suggested it for such general usage.

Would be very useful. Especially for the Adult 18+ section, some of the thread titles there are really...O_O There's a reason threads from Adult 18+ and Yaoi/Yuri section don't show up in the homepage but what's to say other users would want to see them in new posts?

And some might argue that you can just ignore those forums/threads but not when 30 different threads from one section take up the whole first page of new posts. *cough Recruitment section cough* O_O

I guess this feature would be useful.

I don't read the Yaoi/Yuri and Music section, anyways.

Add Recruitment to that, as well.

If so, then highlighting should be possible as well.

This would definitely be a useful feature. It would be great if it could be done with PM's as well.

Well, you can ignore people, if that's what I think you mean?

Yes.There are a lot of conversations going on and I don't want to constantly get the new message notification for each one.

It's just that I don't want to get the red notification for certain conversations. I still want to be part of them though.

Ohh I see. But you don't really mean filtering since that would mean abandoning the conversation, I think. I think this would work if you can highlight convos based on preference. That way instead of getting that notification you can tell which convo has a new message by which is highlighted, and you won't have to click it to get rid of the notification? o__o;;

No, I do mean filtering but just the red notification. Anyway, that is essentially what I was trying to suggest.

Oh, good to see other people are thinking about this. I really like the OP's idea of filters similar to the releases page.

Yes! I'm not really interested in seeing some of the thread titles in the 18+ /Yaoi sections. eek Not stuff I need to be reading.

I wonder if making filters like this is difficult. I know nothing of coding and whatnot.
