Yeah I gotta admit, that explanation was kinda retarded, but crazier things have happened (Like Whitebeard being able to CRACK AIR.)
And Ace and Whitebeard potentially dying in this arc? I would applaud Oda if he actually went through with that.

I don't mind too much if WB dies, since his death is symbolic for the start of a new era which would keep the story moving and that makes sense.
but omg!!!! the thought of Ace dying so soon never crossed my mind. he was just rescued by Luffy moments ago. poor Luffy, having to watch that happen.
