When I was running on XP, I used the default viewer,
Windows fax/picture viewer.
What I liked about that simple program is the fact that you can just drag the files in, and use your left/right & up/down keys to flip to the next page.

Now I have Vista.
And I don't like the one it comes with. Even though it's technically kinda the same, vista version didn't have the simple keyboard navigating feature which I LOVED! and since I'm a picky person who REFUSED to click with my mouse, I'm now using IrfanView! I'm fine with the Left/Right keys on Irfan. As long as I use my keyboard. LOL.

I tried two other programs until I decided to stay put with IrfanView! :3

Ah well...Kind of depends...
If the manga is unzipped and the text is easy to read I just go with Windows PicViewer...roll eyes

By zipped I use CDisplay but I had Quivi for a while and some other comic reader ( I can't remember the name of it...)... biggrin

I use CDisplay or just general Windows prewiew. I like Cdisplay, becouse it reading manga in archives and the chapters take smaller place on hard drive)))

Yes, it's quite embarrassing to admit, but I just use Windows' picture previewer.

Laugh. I know you want to. >_>

I use it too. I don't need anything else, it works great for me. But usually I read manga online.

for hardware:
hah I thought I was the only one who rotated their laptop (tip: if on your bed and reading, use large usps mailing box to support it since it holds up even the heaviest laptops really well)

mine is humongous 21" so its incredible for reading manga; downside is LQ manga looks really LQ; upside is the glare is a lot less and easier on the eyes with laptop LCD screen than my small desktop CRTs

for software:
use xnview for local/networked stuff (hotkeyp to customize shortcuts); firefox/greasemonkey for online reading (see userscripts website for scripts)

these setups though are for reading much manga hours at a time, and not really reading one chapter at a time

my dream is for someone to come up with 30" pivoting LCD display for my desktop, that has a motor that lets you control pivot/rotation, so you can switch between manga reading and movie watching with a click of a button, without moving to constantly rotate a LCD from portrait to landscape etc
