Durarara is a pretty good anime. It still isn't complete (currently 22 out of 24 episodes have been released)

Phantom ~ Requiem for the Phantom is awesome although sad. It kind of reminded me of Code Geass when I watched it.

Darker than Black has a great plot (it's about an assassin) which also kind of reminded me of Code Geass.

Hmm I actually liked most of those!! So, suggesting other favs of mine that seem similar:

I'm going to suggest Zegapain, a totally awesome but underrated and underappreciated anime.

For a surreal and refreshing anime i suggest Aoi Bungaku and Mushishi.

If you like action series i suggest Baccano, Kara no Kyoukai The Garden of Sinners and Speed Grapher.

If u want a romance/slice of lige anime that is absolutely amazing i suggest Clannad & Clannad after story (warning keep a box of Kleenex handy) and Lovely complex for a nice romcom.

For a suspense series i suggest Kaiji, Himitsu The revelations, Eden of the east.

For horror series i highly suggest Ghost Hound, Jigoku Shoujou and Higurashi.
