Not cold enough.
The weather's being really weird this year; it was cold and dreary when it was supposed to be Summer, then it was warm and sunny when it was supposed to be Autumn (we had two weeks of the weather we were supposed to be having, but then it went back to Summer temeratures...when it was almost October), and now we're having 10 degrees Celcius when it's supposed to be freezing 5 degrees at the very least. What's up with that ?! eek
I would really like to see an Elfstedentocht this year; I hope it gets colder soon... cry

That's the weird thing; we were having perfectly temperate Winters until two years ago, that's when temeratures suddenly plummeted. I assume Global warming didn't just start kicking in this year...
The weather's just being weird; for two years we've been having much lower temperatures than we were supposed to be having, and now the seasons are just...all over the place.
I want to skate on natural ice cry

Really? Where I live it's been happening for the past ten years alone. And not just that it's been getting hot but that the weather has started to become more unstable; cold summers, hot autumns, warm winters and extremely cold springs.

I guess we weren't bothered by climate change for a long time; since this year is the first year that I notice the weather being more fickle than usual. Dutch weather is pretty fickle normally, but this year must be breaking records; one day we had 25+ degrees Celsius, and literally the next day it was about 10 degrees Celsius; that cannot be normal.

Besides global warming (and I'm not even sure if this is true) some people speculate that the earthquake/tsunami disasters within this decade knocked the earth's axis by a few degrees, and so that might contribute to the unstable climate. I am unsure if that is a valid point, but yes... I agree that the weather has been changing, and recently it's been much more apparent.

On another note, wow! You're from the Netherlands?! I got to meet with a really nice traveler from your home country when I was backpacking in Europe two years ago. smile

There's also this theory that global warming would cause another ice age; I for one say "bring it on", but I guess most people wouldn't like it if there was another ice age (although if we look back at previous ice ages, we're already long overdue).
Today the weather is...well normal; it's cold, wet, and windy...now that's more like it, yay~ none .

What part of the country was he/she from?

I actually didn't get a chance to ask him that. What was even more embarrassing was that I was napping in the hostel lounge when he came across and asked my friend if I was okay. bigrazz But he was really friendly and helpful to us -- telling us what to expect while traveling. smile

He probably wasn't from the north then bigrazz
We just quietly mind our own business most of the time; we tend to be a bit more reserved than the average Dutch person.
I really hate it when foreigners think all Dutch people are like the people in Amsterdam, because it's so not true. We don't live in mills and walk around wearing milk maid outfits either. The only place where you're going to see girls in milk maid outfits is at the Kaasmarkt in Alkmaar, and they're part of the staff; I've been there once, and incidentally it was raining then too.

Well most of you guys are lucky, Where I live the coldest it had been was probably 60-65 degrees and the hottest it had been 90-100 degrees (which is like all the time) It's almost christmas and it's like a sauna over here!! We still wear shorts and slippers with t-backs and It probably wont get colder than that! I really wish It would snow over here but we live near the equator so It would never happen. The only thing that happens here often is tropical storms and hurricanes sad But at least I live 20 minutes away from the beach smile

It's winter in Oregon. Wind and rain. Cloudy skies and not enough goddamn daylight.

Weather? Terrible.
It's just simply never cold enough here (Texas).
Now you who are freezing your butts off in Chicago or Philly may be like "whut. o.o" but even in the winter, the coldest we've had this year during the day is 40 degrees. I have a personal preference for colder weather, so hot weather (especially in the summer...) just kills me. And considering the fact that it rarely snows here (yep, I said rarely...Texas does get some snow every now and then) sets the crappiest mood for Christmas. I haven't ever experienced a White Christmas...and I hope I do one day. Though I guess Christmas doesn't need to have snow to be enjoyed. Gosh why am I talking about Christmas.

Been around -30 to -20 degrees celcius.
Got slight frostbites yesterday just for staying outside
for 15 minutes or so. It's okay in the morning, but
it gets rather annoying in the middle of the day.

It's been SO chilly and cold lately. I guess I'll just have to survive another month until the temperature will warm up or something.
