since this is a db live action we cant expect all the powering up and fireballs like dbz so im actually thinking this cant sux that bad. the story looks like its gonna change for the worst as it looks that its not gonna be true to the manga but can i hope that Stephen Chow will at least be able to do good action scenes like in his previous movies.

many japs actors/actress are really bad, like those in your average jdorama, totally stiff, emotionless. They were picked because they are idols.

@Domonkazu

i agree they do usually pick the idols....thats why live actions are usually so....blah...but there are good jap actors...but they never really get a chance cusa idols...it's like would u go see n indie film with "no name guy" or "high paid actor"...usually u pick the high paid actor

another edit: o yeah its confirmed dragonball the movie is going to be lame take a look for yourself.

i know this comment above me is going to offend some people but come on! look at goku in that picture!!! I'm hoping this movie is going to pull off a miracle but i still got hope for it being that it has a 100 million dollar budget. I'm guessing the special effects is going to have hulk or iron man or any other movie a run for its money.

im finding this stuff as i go on, watch this video if you want to know about the film

I kinda have doubts about this movie. Not so much with the actors they chose, more like the how the actors will end up portraying the characters. It could go good or bad, not really something I can say right now. I'm also a little worried as to how the movie itself will end up going, making a live-action film from something thats become so popular is really going to be hard on the creators. When I've seen movies like X-Men, The Hulk, and Dare Devil go on the big screen I end up having some issues with how bad this movie could turn out if they're trying to recreate the first meeting with Piccolo and Goku.

Granted I'm going to watch this movie next year when it comes out and verify for myself.

P.S. What the hell...they're adding in characters I've never heard of before...Teto? Carey Fuller? Agundas?

The thought of white actors just makes me cringe.. that Goku in the picture looks like the guy from The Forbidden Kingdom..

First I'd like to say something against the people who keep crying about the actors: "Who Else?"
Just face it you won't find a suitable actor for goku (vegeta,...) in this world.
All you can do is face this movie with an open mind. (More like temporarily forget the appearence of any dragonball character).
Although that one pic somebody posted of mr. Satan is the exception biggrin

I just hope they'll give the movie a serious undertone. I think that if the movie goes to much to the (happy~) action side; it'll soon turn out to be the laughingstock we all fear it to be.

I think the movie can only be good if some serious adaptations to the characters/story is done. Offcourse if you're looking for a good movie instead of an exact live-action version of db(z).

First I'd get rid of the standing-up/stiff hair & I'd minimize glowing effects. You can replace it's effect by perhaps adding a mini 'turbojet-like' sound to any powerups or something like that.

Secondly I'd put in a little drama and give the movie a serious undertone; something close to horror. (Instead of the green been that pilaf is perhaps some greenish golem character).

Well I'm just thinking out loud here. I'm also remebering 'Resident Evil: Extinct' [the movie] in whitch I was very pleased with the fact that even though the 'chick' had superpowers ~ they didn't realy overuse it...

Ugh well anyway the director's got a though job cool
