1.) Clannad. It's made of win.
2.) Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. If you think Higurashi is dark, this anime makes it look like Barney and Friends.
3.) Spice and Wolf. Third season pl0x.
4.) Angel Beats. TK. Nuff said.
5.) Toradora. How come harem anime never has the male lead go out with the female lead you want him to? Ami > Taiga. But meh.

TTGL-best anime hands down, no doubt
Kure-nai- super cool anime with fun characters must watch
Eureka Seven- most satisfying anime to watch with the best couple
Nana- best romance anime I've ever watched with second best couple in anime
Index- beautiful quality and you can't get enough of Mikoto
I have wayyyy more but this is the five I think I enjoyed watching the most.
