My friends always talk in French ect to me so I just reply in Japanese. Besides I'm slowly teaching everyone around me bits of Japanese. But most things like insults I keep to myself just so I'll have something to say which they can't understand. Lol.

But not in real life, unless I'm trying to insult them in some other language to tick them off

And whenever someone else shows such weeaboo-like behavior, notably my friends, I secretly want to knock them out cold. Buuut they're my friends so I keep the thought to myself.

I voted for against using Japanese in regular conversation, however, whenever i am emotional (like angry mostly) i end up using some words. Even more strangely i do it whenever i play basketball, anything athletic really. But its cool, i am learning it in school so maybe that's why it gets stuck in my head.

hmmm.. I have trouble talking to others in my native language (english obviously) let alone ANOTHER language.

I'd only do such a thing if I was fluent in the language. Of course, my lackluster knowledge of a few Japanese words doesn't currently add anything to my language abilities, so I opt to refrain.

about a week ago at school this one person started talking to her friend in class and said "because i'm your [insert japanese word for older sister]" then the guy sitting next to me started a conversation on [japanese for older sister] and [japanese for older brother] with them and i literally popped up, packed my junk, and moved to the other side of the class. can't stand it. i'm so repelled i can't even make myself write it out.

i've seen what bad pronounciation does. watch Yesman. i thought jim carrey was speaking french for a freaking moment before i realized it was korean. then i plugged my ears and read the subtitles.

anyway, i don't use languages i can't speak fluently either.

i use it only for technical terms. otherwise i despise people who say "that's so kawaii~~" gets on my nerves that they think knowing 2-3 words of japanese automatically makes you cool

I don't mind it when it's about learning the language. I'm a Japanese student myself, and I don't mind calling the teacher 'sensei' or the occasional phrases my classmates experiment with.

Or when you use terms for which there really is no word in English, or that just don't have exactly the same meaning if you translate them. (For example when discussing manga and saying 'mangaka' or something.) That's okay too.

But oh God, someone please shoot those little kids going around with "kawaii", "desu" and "ne", or addressing themselves as *insertname*-chan.

No, and people who do it annoy me to no end. First of all, they don't even know Japanese aside from the staple anime words (kawaii, daijobu, nani) so it makes them sound pretentious. Second, it's always, always pronounced terribly. Third, it's always used wrongly (no, no one uses "hai" or "iie" in real life unless you're talking in formal Japanese, so you're just sounding more like a geeky foreigner every time you use it). Fourth, why do they even need to use it, unless they're speaking to someone who's actually Japanese?

Even as a Japanese speaker I never use those words when I speak English; and all foreign Japanese speakers I know are the same. We just don't do it, unless we're at work and we're talking about technical jargon related to our job. It's always those people who DON'T know Japanese who insist on using them in everyday language.

And no, please don't use -chan to address your friends. No matter where you are I will find a way to bonk you on the head.

Maybe that sound repulsive but people doesn't have any idea how to use japanese properly. I know proper japanese conversation is different and may sound weird compare to how conversation are conduct in english. For example people don't use 'iie' directly instead they just making a statement more like a hint.

Well, I use Japanese words in English sentences....but only when I talk about anime and other stuff to my online friends in various anime websites. But in RL, not so much.

But other than that, it doesn't bother me when someone used Japanese words in English sentences.
