Today there was a cute squirrel... missing a tail. o_o
Usually there are squirrels (with tails)... but one time I found a set of baby rabbits in my dad's vegetable garden. There was also a turtle one time walking very slowly in the backyard.

Just wondering what random animals you have found in your front/back yard......... :3

Hopefully one day I will find a Totoro.......

I've seen rabbits and squirrels, unless my creek counts -- then I've seen a heron and a beaver (actually only it's dam).

Years ago I remember there was a duck, and it came back the very next day right up to my house. Sounds a little like the song...

I have seen squirrels, rabbits, a hawk, deer, and some coyotes. Actually, I saw a deer with no tail one time too. It looked kinda cute that way.

Do dead animaly count too?
Then I've seen countless dead mice/rats on my balcony leading to our garden in the back (our two cats won't stop bringing those...)
Also, I found a hedgehog once. (way too cute when they are completely curled up smile)

I want to go back to the city and the normal, little city birds
who chirp instead of squawking cry

Right now we get all sorts of crazy wild mountain animals.

Well, there are Opossoms here.. >_>;
Those things will really scare you when driving at night. They're so bold! They just walk in the middle of traffic! There's also some wild dogs and coyotes in the higher levitated areas. And.. a lot of rabbits. :3

Those are just the rare ones >_>; Dogs, cats, birds, mice are common.

In my bestfriend's neighborhood, there are wild deers.

I recently met someone who told me that there are wild peacocks and parrots around there.

It's not like we actually have a yard.
More like some grass and mud.

Anyways, there's the occasional hedgehog.

Of course, there're cats, dogs, mice and whatnot.
But those are all common and not random in the least.

Let see.... Birds (Tons of different kinds), mice, rats, opossums, cats, lizards, invertebrates (snails, slugs, worms), and gophers, generally. I live in some highly developed suburbs in a Southern California valley, so it's not like I'm surprised there isn't anything else.
