Changed my opinion. 99% sure in the end Gutts and Caska will both survive in a state of perpetual immortality due to the fact that manga author dies of old age before manga is finished.

I'm only half way through the series[chapter 177] and I gotta say it's a good story, but I hate Casca with a passion.

Gats is cool, but Casca is a total witch. She says she likes Gats and even has her first time with him, but never again shows anything to him. She even picks Griffith over him. When Femto[Griffith] is "raping" her she keeps telling Gats not to watch, but she's enjoying it... You can tell by the look in on face the passionate way she kisses him. She just doesn't want to be watched by other people. The whole scene looked pretty concentual to me.

Also when Femto was born into this world after the tower fell she recognized Griffith[compared to COMPLETELY forgetting Gats and everyone else]. She even tried to go to him. It really pisses me off that she's like that.

Gats is a stronger character than to chase after a girl like that. Just let her go and go about killing everything that gets in your way! That's what I would do.

Gats will NEVER have a chance with Casca ever... He NEVER really did. She has continuely chosen Griffith over Gats every single chance she got. She only seems to remember Griffith and as such she will never accept Gats. I can totally see Casca forsaking Gats and all her friends in order to go Griffith. In fact I'm really thinking that's how the story will reach it's climax... Griffith and Gats will fight when Casca decides to go to Griffith. Gats will kill Griffith and Casca will kill Gats for killing him. I can see that ending.

Or Casca will betray them in some way... But she will be the one to do it.

I have no hope for her EVEN AFTER she gets her memories back. In fact I foresee her being even more determined to go to Griffith.

Gats deserves so much better and is way to strong a character to be chasing a witch like her.

I wouldn't go as far to say that Casca is a witch but I do think that Casca loved Griffith more than Gatts and Gatts was only a rebound when Griffith chose the princess. Anyways, its not like Gatts has no other option, the little witch in his group likes him and so does the other blond hair girl who is just starting to learn her magic, she even rants at Casca when she was helpng Casca shower and said that Gatts doesn't even notice her when she is trying so hard to get his attention while Casca doesn't do anything but Gatts loves her madly

Seriously it was like the whole thing between Gats and Casca was simple replacement for the feelings she had for Griffith. It was like "oh your kinda cute and I can't have the man I really want so I guess you'll do". Now Griffith doesn't need anything to get what he wants so him and Casca have nothing stopping them... I believe Casca knows this even if she doesn't know anything else. She'll totally go to Griffith first chance she gets when she gets her memory back. She doesn't care at all for Gats.

I think Gutts and Casca are going to get together one more time before the end. Then Casca stays on the island with the fairys wile Gutts go and sews more carnage and death. Griffith finds her and Gutts gos to get her back. He gets there finds Casca and Griffith. Protects Casca but gets mortally wounded in the process but with the armor takes Griffth down with him. After all is said and done the last seen is a few years later and Casca is some where with a child that looks like the kid they picked up on the beach.


That I think is the most positive ending that i could think up for this manga.

Other than that if you go off of other mangas monkey boy and witch girl get together. I have no idea about the Half Bro and Sis getting together or if they stay in the master and servent roles.
