here's the problem:
i'm the type of person who like to read manga or watch anime halfway.... which is both a problem and a good thing, i guess... my friends knows about it so they usually teased me about some stuffs that i missed on the things that i drop
i really don't remember what is the last one piece chapter that i read...
so here's the question:
should i start all over?? gimme reasons...
should i buy the manga?? (it's not "that" pricey here, and pretty well abundant) gimme reasons..
or should i just read it online? (aka i should start reading them again but to buy them is really not that worthed) gimme reason..
or any other option?

im not going to tell you to spend your money or not thats up to you but one piece is really good. it has many hilarious moments in it while still being a pretty serious manga. if you look at some of the other threads for one piece they have like the funniest moments or the most amazing moments because it will give you humor but it will also give you scenes where your like "wow, that was awesome." the characters are also interesting as well as showing development throughout the manga. i would recommend reading this which ever way you see is best being that its your money not mine.

what's your last chapter?

you know, reading one chapter per week gives us extra excitement which bulk reading cannot deliver. take it easy, may it be two chapters per week. starting from water seven arc, each chapter is exciting, they come up with surprising development. but i thought you will miss those excitement if you read them bulky way.

Start over, especially if you don't remember where you dropped it. The mangaka tends to bring back old characters and events (a side character or event in volume 6 may show up again in volume 50), and the experience is more enjoyable if you read everything in one go. And read it online for a bit, then choose whether or not to buy it. From what I hear, One Piece is a "either you love it or hate it" kind of series, especially when it comes to the art. And (assuming you're talking about the english VIZ releases) while the individual volumes are relatively cheap, there are 54 volumes currently released. At ~$8 a volume, that's over $400 for one series. So it depends if you're willing to spend the cash on it and if you like the series enough to justify the purchase.

hmm
1) If you drop manga/anime a lot then i wouldnt even suggest buying the manga.
2) Character development, interesting stories, humor are this manga's strong points.
3) How often do you see a manga going 600 chapterse (including next weeks) and is still going strong?
One piece has always been one of the big threes and now it has the other 2 beat for a long way. Kinda says something doesnt it?

Well, if you don't remember what you last read, just pick a random chapter that you think you read last and go from there. But do that only if like... you read a lot. To save time, if you're lazy like me. bigrazz But if you didn't read much, maybe 20 chapters or so, I suggest start at the beginning. Just try to make everything fresh in your mind. :> I don't think you should buy it... read it online to save money. Hehe.

If you tend to drop mangas then I don't think it's a good idea to start all over, because the beginnig is not as exciting, the art and story is a bit childish there so you might lose your interest in it again. I suggest you should start somewhere the entry of the Grand Line, things pick up around there.

And for why you should read OP:
1) It's the most popular/succesful manga of all-time.
2) The story/plot is well-thought and exciting.
3) Characters are really colorful, and there's a lot of character developement.
4) It's just hilarious, you can always laugh at smth, even during the fights.

cool

I would buy it if I were you but that's because I've read all thats out. Honestly though read them online and get close to catching up the story is good and by good I mean the same as it always was but it manages to keep things interesting. Its not dark like some of my favorite manga but it manages to have dark elements in it and even deaths and sacrifices. Plus by my estimate its only about half way done at its 600th chapter now LOL.

I suggest to start over. It may be slow in the beginning but like someone pointed out before, there are recurring side characters or villains and even some hints of future events in the early chapters.

One Piece is a story that started interesting enough to make you continue reading and gradually became better and got you hooked into it, at least from my own experience. Of course, it's also the type of series that you either 'love it to death' or 'hate it so much', again, like someone pointed out before.

As for buying the manga, I personally wouldn't mind spending my money for them but I'm a dedicated fan so my opinion is a bit bias. So I suggest you read it online first then decide yourself if you'd rather read it on paper or digitally.

But it's worth reading all 600 chapters all over again from the beginning. It's a nice, light-hearted, action-packed, heart-warming, funny story. That's One Piece.

i say no
it starts out boring as hell
not untill namis background story you feel like you sort of care

then it sort of get interesting for a couple of chapters
say chapter 100-200 something is good
but then the endless fighting begins
and the water7 arc is so boring and predicable even someone who have never even read 1 shounen can predict exactly what is going to happen
and it drags on and on

after water7[around chapter 430something]it gets good again a couple of chapters[maybe50] then its right back into boring again

its overrated

stick to reading a chapter whenever you feel like it online
