By double personality, I mean someone who is conscious of what he is doing, unlike split/multiple personality, in which a totally different demeanor dominates the protagonist.

A perfect example for this would be Hei from the anime, Darker than Black.

Since this protagonist has a double-personality, he must be scheming something, working undercover, or doing something with the intent of never disclosing any information.

I would really appreciate it if you can name any titles appropriate to the description above.

Maybe it's not exactly what you had in mind, and it's somewhere between double and split personality.
At first Rikuo denies that he's aware of his other self, but later it moves closer to what you had in mind.

Pumpkin Scissors (I can only vouch for the anime) - I'm not really sure, the guy has a lantern and when he switches it on, his personality changes (but not really another personality, just that he becomes emotionless and ignorant to pain - I think it's something like classical conditioning)
