If anyone has Netflix, I suggest watching Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale.

Why not Zombieland then? It's the same idea...

Also recommending Hot Fuzz (ok it is British humour but it's got a lot of action as well)
Pulp Fiction
Grindhouse
There's Something about Mary
The Hangover
The Exorcist (it's fun to watch with friends. You can see who's a real man)

EDIT: People have reminded me... Blazing Saddles! This movie is hilarious but even though it's about how stupid racism is there are a lot of funny racist situations so if your roommates are a little immature they'll enjoy that. bigrazz

Try action or sci-fi... like
The Dark Knight
Iron Man
Star Trek (2009)

Or one of those classic holiday films...
A Christmas Story -- though I hate this with a passion, it was a big hit at school...
The Nightmare Before Christmas

Our dorm also had a try at Bollywood (loooool):
Bride and Prejudice
Dhoom 2

OH! Comedy that I really liked:
Little Miss Sunshine

Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993)
Shaun of the Dead (2004)
Blades of Glory (2007)
Hot Rod (2007)
Tropic Thunder (2008)
Zombieland (2009)

Does it matter how recent the movie is?

But it's brilliant!

Speaking of films humor you can't understand...
Quote
I Love You, Man

I had a "WTF" on my forehead the entire film.
It's worth a few chuckles, but huh?!

So... Comedy...
How about the French Taxi series?
Makes me cheerful every time. =)
I really like French comedies, so here're a couple more:
-The Dinner Game - oh, Thierry Lhermitte... How I love thee~
Catherine Frot in one of her silly roles.
-The Closet.
I could go on an on with those French films, but I guess I shouldn't. ^^;

And... If you wanna go there, Fired Up! is pretty nice.

Also... How about... Dogma? biggrin

Death at a Funeral (click for the trailer) is my personal favourite when it comes to comedy...
Basically, it's just a funeral gone wrong...
