i need something f----ing insane/intense that i can bang my head to and jump around the room in ecstacy with. i can't seem to find anything i can listen to without being annoyed by bad screaming technique.
i HATE pig squealing/too much low growling and an example of vocals i'd like are Otep, i like the singer's scream when she goes all out, but they arent insane enough for me and her scream isn't very intense. Also, i really don't like muddy sounding guitars, I want the instruments to sound clear.
thanks

Fucking insane, like Anaal Nathrakh? But it's kind of difficult to headbang to, so Turmion Kätilöt? But they're not intense enough, so maybe something more like Panzerchrist? But that's too much low growling, wait! Behemo... oh... no, low growling there too. Belphegor too I think... Psyclon Nine... no that's a bit pig squealing or is it? also maybe not intense enough, though crwn thy frnicatr had some intense songs. Something less polished, more industrial would be Iperyt maybe. Female death metal vocals? Like Arch Enemy then?
You're asking a lot of things to align there, where when I think about it, some of them get sacrificed for the sake of another. Have you considered playing the music you like, louder instead?
Just to check that I've actually got it right what you're looking for; you're looking for something with an intense, modern beat without the shit-screamo vocals it's usually accompanied with today?
edit: there's a less intense in the metal way, but still very enjoyable (imho) Swedish band called Lillasyster.

not to hijack your thread but just thought id point out to havocc that screamo is actually a subgenre of hardcore and sounds nothing like the "shit-screamo" vocal bands he is most likely refering to. Stuff like Orchid and Saetia etc. are screamo. Anyway if you want clear sounding heavy stuff try Meshuggah

Check out Neurosis, especially their later work as it's more polished and less growly.
Folk metal bands like Korpiklaani and Finntroll are great for insane headbanging

Not really headbanging stuff although they are still one of the best metal bands ever.

It's down to the person I guess. They do have a lot quiet segments alright, but that makes the buildup to the more energetic and intense moments even more headbangable if ya ask me!

I prefer to stroke my chin in a thoughtful manner and appreciate the soundscapes
If you ever get the chance play "Times of Grace" and "Grace" at the same time on seperate cd players and get ready for your mind to get blown.

Definitely a second vote for folk metal. Turisas or Ensiferum'd also be a great choice, or Alestorm if you feel like something more pirate-y.

How `bout Ensiferum- Blood is the Price of Glory
I banged my head with it when I read the battle scenes of Vinland Saga.
Not heavy enough though for many here.
