There's a difference between midgets and little boys and girls.

Ok, I must say....the disturbing thing isn't people who like little girls or boys (those...are just...yeah...I'll stay away from them, but I guess I'll respect them if it doesn't interfere with real people), but with shotacon and lolicon, the little kids are NEVER OF AGE...and yeah, it's ~_~ yeah....oh well...

I always had the feeling that Manga and Anime have a unhealthy attraction towards young girls. A lot of times older women are drawn very young, and also act like it. For example Toshiue no Hito as Hostile said. There seems to be a lot of lolitta stuff, for example chidori from Chobits. I don't care how old she is suppose to be, mentally she is a complete child. Or that lady from Futari Echi, might as well strapp huge boobs to a 12 year old, there wouldn't be a difference.

Or the whole Panty flashing thing. How the hell did that pop up? Has School Girl fetish written all over it.

Oh well, back in the good old age when Jesus walked this earth it was considerd good to marry of girls as soon as they became women ( first blood ), and that was like 15 16. Nowadays thanks to healthier life styles girls are already becoming mature at 12 to 13. That means that if people cared about tradition and folowed the good ol' ways grils would all be married before high school. Intresting, isn't it?

Bully_j, you've got some really strong facts pointed out right there.

Hail 2 Tradition. Gimme a 13-year-old wife.

I know I contradict myself.
And I know that this might be wrong.

But come on, people - it's THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD-WIVES we're talking about.

well you guys are really talking back in the day

well back in the day 40 year old greek men married 16 year old wives..

i wont go on for that but.. depending on your age.. there is a line between right and wrong.. if your 20 i can understand if you like 16-18 year old girls..

also to point out that.. if your 40.. married to a 30 year old (unless you find something wrong with it, not many people do but..) there is nothing wrong with that.. but when a 20 year old and 10 year old people find it very very wrong.

im not trying to back up lolita as im thoroly against it

I actually really don't want a 13 year old wife. Nothing against your guys taste, but imagine having to deal with your wife going through puberty.

On the serios side, I guess Girls can develope very soon and i think it really is possible for 16 and 30 year olds to be loving couples. Possible, not likely. I find intrests in undeveloped youngsters by older men extremly unsettling, and am happy that it is illegal pretty much everywhere. Since manga is fiction i don't mind people drawing whatever they want, even though i find it sickening.
In comparision, having people with a sword cut peoples heads open is much worse. I don't mind it though.

The cutting through peoples heads thing is sickening simply on a physical level. Pedophiles and their tendancies are sickening mentally and emotionally, which makes it so much worse for me. I have been desensitized to ridiculous violence (chalk it up to watching horror and slasher flicks when i was like 5 or 6) but I know there is no way for me to accept this whole genre. I mean, people can draw whatever the fuck they want, no matter how sickening it is, but i'll pass on it everytime. I even hate it when the other genres i am into (i.e. shounen, seinen, etc) have characters that are made into sexual or, at the very least, have people lusting after them even though they are barely teenagers.

did any of you read Girl Saurus?
The whole thing with his Sister was really unnerving to me.

It really is amazing how desensitized we are to violence. To act of killing should be repulsiv to us. Instead i am more annoyed by people drawing 8 year olds in underwear.

Let's not forget who we are to blame for this shit.

Answer: The friggin' sick impotent Jap geekos.

A Western (or any other) comic artist (animator, whatever) would never have these kind of references, unless it deals with them on a serious social level - e.g. Transmetropolitan has some pedophilic references, but not because it's some sick nerdish stuff, but because it's created to shove a futuristic dystopia up our consuming asses.

That's why it's the fault of the perverted minds of the Japanese geeks who rule modern visual culture and hence, our minds too.

Hope I didn't offend anyone by saying this.

I havent read that series but now that you put it that way, i dont think i ever will.

The fact that we are so desensitized amazes me too. I guess the value of life is so low these days because we take for granted how good we have it (at least for me in the united states). Not having to deal with death on any kind of regular basis cements that in my mind, at least.
