With the anime making its comeback, I was wondering how many of you guys love Saitou Hajime. I thought he was probably one of the more interesting characters in the series.

I wrote about him here: http://www.mangatherapy.com/post/4810051700/saito-hajime-re trospect

Granted, his personal life wasn't mentioned much. But, what do you think of the character in general?

That fight between him and Kenshin was just amazing to see.

I think he fights that one way because every battle the Shinsengumi face is a battle to the death. There's no time for fancy stuff.

Saitou Hajime is one of the most interesting guys in Rurouni Kenshin (after Kenshin and Aoshi, of course biggrin ), but he definitely is an archrival to Kenshin and could possibly match Kenshin in strength. He, like Kenshin, upheld his belief when it comes to the bad guys, though he uses a more harsher judgement than Kenshin.
I love how he always put down Sano, but I bet deep down he respects Sano a lot.
I almost couldn't believe that he is

married, though his wife was never shown in the manga. maybe he's just joking?

Oh, yeah, Yahiko & Misao's reaction to Hajime being married was so funny. laugh

If you think that was unbelievable, you should see DYNASTY WARRIORS' Xu Zhu.

I feel bad now that his seiyuu is dead, especially when they are redoing the Kyoto arc. cry

I remember when Saitou told Kenshin and Misao about his

, I reacted the same way they did. It was hilarious.
