It's confusing to me. Facebook will always be better and have more members. It's like when MS tried to beat Google with Bing - not gonna happen.

population is the most important factor in any social site but other factors determine population google plus hit 10 million users without allowing people to join without an inv

Well, I really like how G+ works. It's a lot more organized and secure than facebook is(OMG you can edit posts!!), and my life is essentially built upon Google's services, so having a social stream under Google would only make my life easier. It's actually growing fairly quickly, but most of my friends have yet to know about it/get an invite. We'll see what happens in a year.

Yeah this is true. I'll probably jump on the bandwagon at some point when they make it less confusing (what the hell is a circle?!) and have some awesome features that Facebook doesn't.

That's not necessarily true. In the US especially Facebook is starting to lose membership, and quickly. By tens of millions actually. I deleted mine a few weeks back, basically just tired with it. Facebook isn't invincible.

it has really neat features that facebook doesnt have that i think can make google+ better like circles (that sounds really nifty), and i think spark is a really cool idea too, but if facebook wanted to they can just incorporate these ideas within facebook, and then google+ can go the way of buzz lol, but its actually gaining quite alot of members so maybe it will last

Not interested, and I'm just as confused as others. Also, why do I need to join another social network when I'm already on Facebook, where almost everyone I know is there?

Facebook is an insecure cesspool where you have no control over your information or the flow of it. That is scary.

That flow of information is controlled in google+ by the circles.

Google already owns your email, youtube, and is the best search engine currently out there, and they have been stringing all of these together into one solution; google+ will be the social infrastructure between them. Along with google documents, calendar and various other apps they have and are developing, google is dominating.

And that is also scary.

Google is currently way less evil than Facebook, but they control so much more.

Yes, thank you for your eloquent argument for Google+. Seriously, the circles is what made me join. Facebook's "privacy" settings (which aren't even that private) annoys me... that's my beef with them.

I've heard many good things about Google Plus. Once I get more time, I'll give it a further try. For now, hmmm... interesting. smile

Btw, I gave up on using Facebook: they keep changing the settings every now and then. I can't even control any of my information anymore.

It's just going to blow up in their faces if they don't put a stop to it. At this rate, it makes things even easier for identity thieves to just pick a real name and maybe even details like addresses, your school, etc., off Facebook. 'Cos many only check back like once every 3 to 6 months.

Before Facebook, there was MySpace; before MySpace, there was Friendster; before Friendster, there was Xanga, Six Degrees and mIRC. It's just a fad everyone goes through, and I refuse to be a part of it.

You need to get a hold of me, call/txt me on the cell or email.
