Quote from Anime News Network
According to World Hobby Fair, Hata Kenjirou’s eight+ volume series, “Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate the Combat Butler)“, serialized in Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine, has been given the green light for a full anime conversion.

Ok, so green light from what I understand means a anime could be made, but doesn't mean it is confirmed and coming. I say we shall wait for more news to come...

Quote from Anime News Network
January 10th, 2007 - According to the Shonen Sunday News Page, Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku) will be made into a TV anime series. A future issue of Shonen Sunday will include an announcement about when the show will be aired and which network will carry it.

More confirmation of the anime series. Looks promising so far.

And now Hayate no Gotoku anime is presented ! smile But be honest, it lack some important plots and can't be interesting like manga. Anyway, it's nearly good. Character design is beautiful, but truly I don't see any new upgrade technology for an 2007 anime : background, how others can be animated in a crowded group ..etc

Looks like the anime has been censored/toned down significantly from the manga, at least in regards to the TV version. I've read that the DVD is supposed to be better in that the dialogue is edited to something more in line with the manga. In any case, it is probably better to stick with the manga. Then again, considering the fanbase who frequent MU, that's pretty much a given. dead

They did say that the content was toned down for the time slot, heck, it was mentioned right in the show when it started airing I think.

The anime is a decent rendition of the manga, the original parts of the anime were good enough but not always that great. The manga itself isn't that much better though now that I've seen both of them. I think this might be one that the anime is on par with the manga if not better.

The anime seems out of order with respects to the manga. The most recent episodes of the anime occured a good while back in the manga, and a few episodes ago, it showed the some current chapters of the manga.

Out of sync for the loss.
