I was wondering if a Rubix cube manga could ever work?

They have everykind of sport and board game as a manga so why not Rubix cube? A kid going for the world record, doing it blindfolded, underwater, one-handed...just the basics...

A rubix cube manga might be alright. The kid starts out as a nerdy kid at his school being the only one who can solve a rubix cube in a few seconds. Everyone hates him because they think he's a showoff but he's really just doing it for fun. One day he gets a letter in the mail inviting him to some national super secret rubix cube tournament. When he gets there there are so many different challenges that he's not up to, like rubix underwater and team rubix cubing, but the tournament isn't for a few months so they give him a coach. He realises that his coach is none other than a super-sexy twenty-year-old girl that just so happens to not have a boyfriend and be a virgin because of her insane rubix cube skills. Over the months before the tournament, she starts out hating him, but she eventually grows to like him and realise his potential and a romantic relationship starts to develop. Then comes the day of the tournament and she's his first opponent...

kinda only when he starts he's a total noob to rubix cubing, until he sees something in everyday life that makes him realize the ultimate strategy to rubix'ing, making him into the uber prodigy of the century

yeah. That's a good opening. Or have him be the most popular kid in school, then he realises he's a rubix expert, and then he gets addicted and becomes the most hated person in school. Just as he's on the virge of killing himself, his dad walks into his room and says he got an invitation to something and that he should take that belt off his neck. (parents don't really care about him. Another reason he wants to kill himself)

Did you guys now that you can solve the rubix cube with 24 turns or less, regardless what combination it have. so its nothing about how smart you are, its how much you get use to recognize the pattern. unilke board games you challange diffrent ppl and you need to use diffrent tactic to win, so it becomes diffrent every time you meet a new challanger. so it will vary time to time.

Rubik's cube are getting super popular now so there's probably a high chance some mangaka out there who is desperate for a new series might use this theme. And since it's about Rubik's then I'm sure people will be interested in it. The beginning could start with the usual Rubik's Cube is the "
In thing" and there are competitions world-wide. A boy is gets interested and he meets up with this old guy who was a former Rubiks cube champion and is given an old cube for him to practice with. It would be cool if there were new formed rubik's aside from the usual cube shape, like an eight-shaped Rubiks or something (saw a guy glue two cubes together to formed one) laugh

You can make a manga about EVERYTHING even the most stupid premises.

Actually, I think that most manga is based in really stupid premises.

So why not a rubix cube?

uhhh.....Oh boy, the exciting world of Rubix.....Who can finish first? Find out next on Rubix the Cubix Master.

Oh yeah, real exciting. There's no strategy involving Rubix cube. All you have to do is follow the general rule and formula. Assemble the first layer, than match the centers, then work your way down. Technically, even an idiot can do it. No offense.

Despite the exaggerating media portray of 'genius' solving Rubix as an indication of 'Genius'. It's not. Almost everyone can do it. It just depends on how committed you are.

Could have a scene where the main character finds a 6X6X6 cube...
The first time I saw one... I was omfg I want one...
Too much pain to solve on a computer... too much dragging >.<

this is true all you have to do is memorize a set of patterns that solve a rubix cube and you can finish any rubix cube within 3-5 minutes and the paterns arent even that hard to learn

I'm talking about one physically, not a computer generated one.

I see. You see, I thought when you said "Too much dragging on a computer" or something, that meant you have it on your computer. I guess I was mistaken.
