I've always sort of had a problem with that synopsis since it's pretty obvious from early on that she had never actually been a boy, and all the genie could do was mess with their memories. Which is really a whole different spin on the story you might be expecting going in.

well it is obvious from pretty early, but still not from square one, so it would be nice of you not to spoil it to other people who might want to discover it by themselves, be a nice person and spoiler over your comment, please.
