I hear that for the Bleach manga and anime, the story ends up splitting because Rukia has not yet been rescued in the manga (to date?), and so the anime continued on separately from the manga. If this is true, at what point of the anime and manga do they go their separate ways for story?

It's obvious that you aren't reading the manga.
I for one would suggest you do so, but if you want to know where the two storys split.
It's just at the beginning of the "Bountou" arc(or god knows how they write that). That story arc is what they call fillers. It has no actual basis in the manga story line, and was added there so that they can let the manga get some more material.

and actually rukia has already been saved in the manga (and long before that happened in the anime...)

Oh, I didn't know that she has to be rescued. Oh well, no big deal now that I know.

Rukia has been rescued in the manga, that was almost 2 years ago lol... they even showed her shikai, they're in the process of rescuing Inoue from Aizen now - against him and his Espada.

Are you reading off Viz at some bookstore?

In the anime, there's a filler arc because it's better than making your own story like what happened to RuroKen. It splits off at ~66, then comes back in at ~108 to introduce the Vizards, Ichigo's dad, Ulquiorra, etc. (still really late though...)

Theres 2 different arcs that happened in the same timeline where the anime and manga splits. The "Bounto" arc is where the manga and anime splits. The movie also happens in the same timeline if im not mistaken. They just stuffed the story a bit for the anime due to the introduction of the 3 new mod-souls(Bounto arc) but everything else is the same.

Maybe... but where? there is the anime start/end chapter field. But as it's name says, I think it's for the start/end of the anime. And not the start/end of the filler episodes.
Anyway, this thread is directly accessible from the series info page. So someone who's looking for this same information will probably end up reading this.
But as usual, if you have a better suggestion...

i think c182 is the link from soul society arc to the new arc

but can't remember if this chapter was used in the anime to link soul society and bount arc

but the new arc really begins in c183

i would really like it when that anime end/start thing would be used for fillers and stuff like synchronolical issues. thats the thing people want to know, i say.
