Recently I've gotten into playing Dragon Age Origins and I quickly began to adore the character Alistair. Not the brightest but he makes up for it with dedication, charm and wit. For lack of a better term for him, he's adorable. I'm wondering if anyone has read any series with major characters (not necessarily main characters but ones that are around OFTEN. Not just random characters that appear rarely.) I'd prefer if said character is male though a female who meets the requirements will be just fine. ^_^

Any genre/demographic is fine, although yaoi and shoujo will likely be met with extreme prejudice.

Thanks in advance!

Can you tell a little what Alistair is like or what part you like about him for those who aren't familiar with the character?

Oh jeez. Dragon Age 2 was a let down. Alistair = goofy kid, virginal, guy who always wants to do what is "right" but is not above getting revenge

As far as that character outline goes nothing comes to mind except maybe Shingeki no kyojin because the mc is not one of those regular perverted types.

Ah, the disappointment that was #2... only ones I liked there were Fenris and Varric; Fenris only because he was useful. I shanked Anders the second I had the chance ^_^ (He insulted EVERYBODY. Where did my Awakening Anders go?! I could live with that one. Damn body snatchers!)

To eleborate on coazhi's very accurate description: he's an honestly good guy who uses humour like a shield, deflecting questions he finds very personal or difficult to answer, very sentimental, and (to a female warden anyway) willing to make sexual innuendos but is embarrassed when they're returned.

As for revenge, he'll leave and hate your guts if you don't kill (or let him kill) a certain somebody because that's what he feels is the "right" thing to do, even if he's obviously blinded by the need to make someone pay for a personal tragedy. I think that about covers it o.O
