I'm not talking about just yuri translations. I'm talking in general, going through raws, VNs, and LNs.
There is a gap like this: yaoi>>>>>>yuri.
Most yuri series are only 1 or 2 volumes long while yaoi goes from 1~4 volumes normally. Not to mention that the ratio of yuri series compared to yuri oneshots is pretty much 1:20.
I know I'm just complaining, but its kind of aggravating to see so many yaoi series and so few yuri series. Its hard to get a good yuri fix now-a-days.

The reason is quite simple, you know.
The reason for that big difference is that among the main genres- Shounen, Shoujo, Seinen, Josie, Yaoi, Yuri; 'yuri' is the least popular one (especially when talking about pure yuri [no hetero stuff]).
Since the no. of fans/readers/interested parties is relatively low, the no. of people who would scanlate (or work on) that sort of stuff would be low too. And thus, the releases are significantly lower than other main genres.
I agree with everyone shouting out for more Yuri. We need moar. I constantly have to dig deep for the stuff when I feel like reading some too.
God bless all the yuri dedicated scanlation groups for scanlating all that yuri~
And the Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o VN series. Hell yes.
Sorry I had to agree with a few of the people in this thread lol. I don't know much about yaoi releases getting less and less though. I don't read it nor am I interested in it. I'm sure compared to all of us yuri fans though, you have a lot more choice and a lot more releases haha. You can start really complaining when it trickles down to what we have

I agree that ther's still plenty of yaoi coming out (pun not intended), just a little slower. There are a few groups with weekly releases.
But if you just started reading a year ago, you've got several YEARS of back list yaoi to read.
Have fun!

Yeah, we all agree we need more yuri.
And the yaoi will come back.
To solve both - join a group and help them release faster.
