Wouldn't call myself an otaku, don't even read much manga anymore, sometimes scanlate only. I live in Pakistan and I sincerely hope I don't know you...
I've been using Otaku here to define a manga and anime fan, for lack of a better term. So yeah if you read manga and watch anime then you qualify as one, atleast according to the scope of this thread.
How do you scanlate? I'm really curious, do you have access to raws and stuff?
And as far as knowing you is concerned, the only Hira I ever knew was my DBMS professor, so unless you teach in a uni, you're good.

I've been on this website for many years but am not an active part of the community, I mostly just come here to read recommendation threads, keep track of what I'm reading, and see which series I don't read are on the rise. In real life, I really only know about three people that I have a good friendship with that read manga, watch anime, or take part in both. I personally read shounen and seinen only really.
Same here, this is actually the first thread I have started, and even before this I mostly just popped in to give a recommendation or answer an "I'm looking for" question. Mostly just read seinen and shonen too, though I find shonen to be very predictable these days, and did really like a few shoujo too.

Hmm, it is indeed interesting to see people here that from "desi" (idk), never really thought how much anime and manga scene expanded all the way there lol. I just noticed that a couple of you guys use the word "uni" for university; I thought only Aussies (Australians) use that lol. Just saying of course... btw I'm not desi, just an Australian-Filipino biggrin
Desi here just refers to people from India and Pakistan mostly, and most of the people I know do use the word "Uni" so I guess its fairly popular. An Australian-Filipino sounds cool, maybe its because my neighbours are Filipino lol.
Still nice to meet all of you, And its good to see people from Pakistan replying on this thread too .
