“The Legend of Zelda,” one of the most popular videogame series of all time, is in the works as a television show at Netflix.

The video streaming service is in the early stages of developing a live action series based on “Zelda,” about an ordinary boy named Link who must rescue a princess named Zelda and save a fantasy world called Hyrule, said a person familiar with the matter. As it seeks writers to work on the show, Netflix is describing it as “Game of Thrones” for a family audience, this person said.

Huh. Could be good. I mean with it being Netflix, no real limitations. A gritty Zelda would be interesting.

The interesting to hear that they chose the right franchise. Ether Link or Samus (had a movie by John Woo in development) is the way to go and Netflix is a good partner.
Daredevil look ace and just like the classic. comic These games don´t have that much story but a lot of lore and you can farm that easily. These 2 series also need a sales boost.
It is nice that Big N finally sees that they are basically the Disney of gaming and they are keeping a third of the japanese games industry afloat with farming out content like the new Smash too. A Mario cartoon like Adventure Time would also be a good direction.
But keep that Wii U afloat! There are about 15 good(ish) exclusives on it and i hate to put it into my closes for months on end. These Zelda manga aren´t half bad btw.:
Zelda no Densetsu: Toki no Ocarina, Zelda no Densetsu: Majora no Kamen and Zelda no Densetsu: Kamigami no Triforce (HIMEKAWA Akira).

game of thrones for a family audience

lol
wtf does that mean
that show is about sex and violence... there is nothing to that show but sex and extreme violence
if not for the sex and violence not one person would look at it
it is a little odd that we live in an age where porn is available everywhere
but we just have to watch tv shows that interupts the sex with silly dialoge and awfull acting every 10-15 minutes
art
i guess

the shit show marco polo [also heavy on the sex,bad acting, silly dialoges and violence was made by netflix [i think] so it is not looking good at all

the daredevil tv does NOT look at all appealing
the comic was/is bad
if not for frank millers magic rescue of this character[basically turning him into marvels batman] in the 80s he would be forgotten
like he deserves

zelda as a tv show just cannot work
fanmade low budget zelda movies on youtube have heart and a passion for the games behind it
put 300 million us dollars and an interest in making that money back and bad actors into the project and it will just fail
maybe if they made into something like the awesome The Adventures of Sinbad from the mid 90-s
campy and with heart
but that is most likely not going to happen

It'd be interesting to see where they go with it, especially how they do the environment and what the plot will be. But I have a feeling the only people who are going to watch it are die-hard Zelda fans.

Let's just hope he doesn't start saying that "Excuuuuuuusee meee, princess!" crap again.
