So I used to be quite a big fan of shoujo when I was in high school. Now most series I come across just annoys the heck outta me, since the usual portrayal of the girls are weak creatures and basically do-gooders who easily fall in love with the first guy they come across. roll eyes Those annoy me so much that I tend to avoid almost everything with the "shoujo" tag...

BUT!

I miss the excitement, the heart pounding and butterfly in my stomach moments a very well written shoujo series brings. Don't point me to josei, cuz I already read those kind.

What I want, boys and girls, is a MC who is quite mature for her age and not stuck in the "I am so in love with my boyfriend" stage or the "Why is everyone so mean to me?" stage. I want someone who is more focused on other things rather than just falling in love. Someone who can shrugged off the bad luck happening to her, and can say "Aww, you are so cute, children..." to bullies. But at the same time, I want an MC who won't take shit from those people, who'd put herself first before other's sake.

Are there anything that fits thisconfused

none I'm kinda worried there isn't....

BTW, I was rereading Hwang Mi Ri's Hot Blooded Woman the other night, cuz I remember liking it so much back then. V^.^ Yeah, I know... Anyway, I remembered a scene, which I was pretty sure from this series. The MC transferred to a new school where the kids bullied her, one way was taking her desk away. Instead of getting pissed, she just went to the storage and brought back this very fancy throne-like chair and used that instead. She was like, "you guys are amateurs."

Also, don't bother reccing HMR's works, cuz I'm going thru them with my lil sis so fast right now.
(hahaha, I just made her read all of HMR's... we all deserve to read something we'll be embarrassed of 5 years from now. hehehe)
