I have a couple questions about the anime industry in Japan:

How much do animators get paid on average?

Are there many people from different countrys who go to Japan for the purpose of specifically working for an anime studio?

Any replys would be appreciated, cheers biggrin

All numbers in 10,000s yen. Multiply and convert them yourself.

In 2014, avg annual income was 332. 35% were in the 150-300 range, 10% were 350-400, over half were under 400.

By type of job: finishing (coloring I think?) 194.9, key frame animation 281.7, character design 510.4, backgrounds 240, animation director 563.8.

Pretty bad, as i make more that this 20 year vet:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-05-22/20-year-ve teran-anime-technical-director-reports-100000-yen-monthly-salary/ .116413

This study ain´t too happy either:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2015-05-15/study-anim ators-earned-usd28000-on-average-in-japan-in-2013/.87762

And here is why (most) anime worker are payed like shit:

A basic google search can conglobate these stories but most numbers are guesstimates anyway, as anime production cost numbers are rarely made public.
Meaning that there no set numbers, as that´s how the free market works.
