Shipping times depend on what option you choose. Japanese post has a few options, surface mail being the slowest of those and they do not guarantee any delivery times. A month or 3 is the general.
I'm currently in Japan and I can tell you now the best way to do things is find someone in Japan send them money and get them to send the books to you. I currently buy manga books for about 4 groups using this arrangement, they paypal me money I go to Book Off or K Books. Buy the manga and send it using the option above surface mail, still cheap but faster.
I can end up buying and sending books for as little as £3-£4 per volume. Bargain.

http://www.aclimatesolution.com/ (I know this site looks like it doesn't carry much but if you send them an email asking for what you want they will usually find it for you no problem)
I have dealt with both and they are very good companies. Both allow you to make special requests to find manga they don't have listed on their site.

Weren't you with Shoujo Magic?
And in response: I see them at conventions all the time. It isn't a huge section but it exists.

I've ordered massive amounts of manga from Japan. Mostly I use Amazon and YesAsia. Both are great sites.
