As a long time user of CDisplay, I decided to give MangaMeeya a try after hearing all the good reviews from other people. After some configuration, I was able to make it somewhat comfortable to use. But, I'm still having some problems like:

-changing the way a page scrolls up/down as to resemble something slower and choppier like CDisplay's.

- the way the page is setup after flipping as to starting in the middle versus starting at the top.

- how the program flips the pages to just changing the page display.

Since there doesn't appear to be any help package that came with it, any suggestions or places I can get some help please?

I started using this after seeing the news on it here. Until this I've always just used IrfanView. I never liked CDisplay much and I never tried anything else since IrfanView got the job done well enough, but I gave this a shot and I like this program quite a bit so far. It has some very nice and useful features.

A bit more help included in the package would have been nice, but I just messed around with some options for a bit to get a feel for everything. Anyway, I think I might be able to answer your questions if you haven't figured it out yet.

-changing the way a page scrolls up/down as to resemble something slower and choppier like CDisplay's.

Not sure exactly how you want it, but maybe... try going to Tools>Configuration and go to the Display (2) tab and un-check the smooth scroll box. Mess with the Speed and Acceleration settings there until it suits you.

- the way the page is setup after flipping as to starting in the middle versus starting at the top.

Unless I'm misreading what you're asking then I think if you go to View>Display and select Vertical Centering it will give you what you're looking for.

- how the program flips the pages to just changing the page display.

If you mean you just want it to snap to the next page with no animation then go back to Tools>Configuration and under the General tab set the Transition time to 0 ms.

-Edit: Actually I just saw a simpler way. Just go to tools and un-check Page Effect.

Hope it helps. smile

Uh... Mind if I ask about something again?

Does anyone know how to stop the page from repeating again after scrolling down to the bottom?

I've been using manga meeya for a long time and i love using it.

There is just one thing that i really wanna do with it though, this is something that could be done in CDisplay, which is fit width if oversize.

I can't seem to pull off the same effect with Mangameeya, scrolling single sheets downwards is fine but i wanna see spreadsheets as a whole and don't want it to scrolled. So the effect i want is for single sheets to be scrollable but for spreadsheets to be whole and non scrollable.

Help me guys.

I don't understand what you mean there exactly. If you mean the same page repeats if you keep scrolling down, mine doesn't do this. I tried to get it to do that just to see and couldn't manage, so I don't about this one, sorry.

I know if you're in Thumbnail Mode you can scroll through the whole chapter/volume like it's one long continuous image. If that's the case just change it back to Reading Mode from View.

I'd like this too. I didn't find an option to only fit oversized images, but you can select the Fit Length/Width option in View. That will fit the two page spreads to the window, but it also up scales the single pages a bit to fit the window width making it appear a little bigger.Personally, I just keep it on Actual Size and zoom out whenever I come to a spread.

One of my favorite features is being able to zoom in/out on the fly. Click and hold the scroll wheel button on the mouse and move up/down to zoom in/out for anyone who might wanna know. Also, the little magnifying glass area zoom comes in really handy for manga that occasionally use really small text.

It repeats sometimes. For example if I'm scrolling down all the way, it's suddenly back at the top of the same page. Also, for some reason, it keeps switching from Reading mode to Thumbnail mode on it own. Is there a way, to just keep it on Reading? Sorry for all the question, but I really don't know where else to turn to. I really appreciate all your help. smile

I really don't know. I can't even replicate the problem to attempt to troubleshoot it.

I was interested in this so I tried looking around for information, but there's very little to be had and most of what is there isn't in English. Best I've gathered on it is that it was originally created by a Japanese programmer for Windows CE, but he was found to be in violation of the GPL and subsequently abandoned it. The source code is no longer available and all development ceased a couple years ago.

However, there was a Chinese win32 port created which a guy from France, Geared2003, then translated into English about a year ago and that is what Silverado uploaded and we downloaded. This little app has quite a little history. laugh

Sunfizz said he was having problems with the scrolling and fixed it by moving the English version MMCE_Win32.exe file into the Japanese version folder and running it from there. I guess you could try that.

Anyway, long story short. As far as I can tell there is no official development or support to be had for this anymore. This program is currently dead in the water and with no source code available it will likely remain so indefinitely. Still works great for me as is though, so I'm sticking with it. smile

Gah, I think MangaMeeya hates me. I've tried running it from within the folder, but it still continuously goes back to the top automatically when you scroll all the way to the bottom.

Thank you anyway. ^_^
You were a big help. biggrin

I actually like CDisplay. It's simpler, the pages fit the screen better. It's easier to use. I would recommend sticking with it rather than using MangaMeeya.

The guy that translated the program into english fixed a few issues with his prior translation. One of the little quirks he fixed has something to do with the scrolling issue you seem to be mentioning.

Sunfizz's site has the latest version.

Why dont you simply change to autoresize? Who on earth scrolls down a page if he reads manga? Also mangameeya loads as twice as fast as cdisplay especially if you ever needed to flip a few pages more than the next page. It also remembers the last page of the archive. so you can reload the application and read where you left. im using mangameeya with a cordless logitech presenter so that i can read without leaning forward to my keyboad from anywhere in my room. you can make different key settings using Shift + F1 (or F2, F3 ...) to save the current settings to F1 and to load the settings just press F1 again. This way you can define one reading mode for keyboard usage and one reading mode if you have a cordless controller like my logitech blue tooth presentor.
